Review Summary

La Buche offers a vibrant and authentic dining experience that captures the heart of traditional Quebecois cuisine. Guests frequently praise the warm, festive atmosphere and the eclectic decor, which includes a notably unique washroom design. While the menu features hearty, comfort-focused dishes such as poutine, tourtière, and various maple-inspired desserts, the attentive and friendly staff consistently enhance the visit. Although the popularity of the restaurant can lead to bustling crowds and the need for reservations, many visitors find the overall quality of the food and the lively cultural immersion well worth the experience.

We wanted to try some Quebec dishes & were very happy with our experience. Our salmon was fresh & perfectly cooked. Our pork dish was pulled-apart tender, moist & delicious. Veggie sides were excellent compliments.

Without AC, we were uncomfortable so we didn't stay for dessert!

We went to La Buche to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were seated in the garden behind the restaurant & had a great meal. The wait staff were helpful & the food was delicious! The cuisine is different than anything we had before & we really loved it.

Visited this restaurant during recent stay in Quebec City on a Sunday morning. We waited in line for a table. Took about 30min to be seated.

Patio was very nice/small intimate. We enjoyed the atmosphere.

Food was excellent & exceeded expectations. The French toast was outstanding.

Only negative comment was the waiter was sub-optimal. Not very attentive, did not provide cutlery or ask for beverage order.

We went there without booking. We waited outside for about 5 minutes only. The place is really authentic with unique decoration. We stayed in the outside area, it was lovely but every corner of this place is unique.
We order a pea soup to start but unfortunately the main course came first. That wasn't a problem as e ate all together.
The food was excellent & the atmosphere vibrant. I highly recommend

My husband & I visited Restaurant La Buche on a short trip to Quebec. We were interested in trying some foods that were distinct to the area. We were not disappointed. We started with an assortment of Quebec cheeses with ketchup aux fruits, all of which were delicious. We then shared the pea soup. It was unique & delectable. We ended our meal with the Pate Chinois, a Quebec shepperd's pie. Quite different from an English shepherd's pie, it had mashed potatoes with corn, red wine braised beef, & green onions on top. So good! The service was excellent & the environment welcoming. There were several things on the menu that we'd love to go back & try.
