One of my favorite breakfast spots ever! So cozy & inviting. Service is friendly & thoughtful. Servers treat you like family. Try a maple latte! I think of these when I'm home in Florida! You won't be disappointed with the 2 egg breakfast. The bacon is thick & delicious, the potato cakes crispy & fresh. Don't forget a side of delicate crepe with fresh fruit & warm maple syrup. The ambience is so comforting & fun- not stuffy & dark. Love their playlist too!
Dinner offers some creative dishes with a Quebecoise style. I love the tender halibut over the sweet potato puree & roasted vegetables with lemon & caper sauce- melt in your mouth!
We have come here many times- with friend & family & will always return!
One of the coziest restaurants I have visited. Had a delicious poutine La Buchette & a dish with halibut, shrimp, mussels on a bed of mashed potatoes with a very tasty sauce. Our waitress Gabrielle ( I hope I remembered that right 😄) was outstanding, very attentive & informative with a big bright smile.
I recommend this place hands down.
Service was good & accommodating. Onion soup, fois gras, baked oysters were underwhelming. Mussels, pasta & poutine sauce were good.
I like comfort food & La Buchette serves up delicious Quebecois faire. The beef bourguignon was fab. A rich velvety sauce with fork tender beef served in a cassoulet bowl along side flavourful mashed potatoes. The staff service was excellent & it was a joy to listen to the kitchen chefs enjoying themselves while preparing meals. I highly recommend a stop at La Buchette for a taste of Quebec in a relaxed cabin-y vibe.
Tried this place because the reviews were good... but the food wasn't good at all. Maybe because we went there too late(after 3), or our expectation was too high?
We ordered a burger & poutine. The fries were soggy... Poutine was bland... pasta wasn't any different from what we make using a sauce from a grocery store... maybe we didn't order right dishes...
Pourquoi ?
Had the chocolate crepes & the casserole. Both were really good. The crepes were a lovely texture, & the chocolate sauce was high quality.
We were walking around in a snowy day, looking for another place, & ended up in this beautiful place. The Bruch plate in my picture was out of choice, & it was THE BEST. The think omelet with cheese. The meats were deliciously presented & tasty, the duck & the smoked trout, the sausage & the maple bacon, the toasted bread with butter, the hash brown, the salad with a nicely prepared nivagre, the French toast with the fruits & a sugary sauce on top... everything on its own & separated is a wow momment after the other. The atmosfere, with the jazz music & the decoration, the naked brick walls, the wooden texture in many spots. & my hot chocolate was like i do in the office, wipped cream & cinnamon added too, without asking or knowing. This is a cozy place you want to come back & recommend for sure.
We had gone here as part of a food & culture tour. The food we had tried here was delicious so we wanted to return. We came for breakfast, & my husband said it was the best breakfast he's ever had! The fried potatoes were crispy. His bacon had a light maple glaze. I loved the casserole, which also had a tasty tomato sauce. The restaurant has a fun rustic vibe. I loved all the funny surprises, including Obi Wan Kanobi on the mantle. It made me want to look for more unexpected extras.
