Food was excellent though a bit over priced for the portions but it has a Michelin honor so i can see the pricing. Great wine list, especially the champagne. Service people extremely knowledgeable about the food & the wine. Never have i had someone know intimitely about the wines i was deciding on & that really impressed me. All the food was prepared with precision. It was all perfect. We had oysters with a tomato ice of sorts & i really loved this. It was surprising simple & delicious. I will try to make at home. A dirty martini paired perfectly with it. Comte flan with morels rich & strikingly complimentary to the flan. Fried mushrooms in a type of rice flour tempura (maybe?) were good with the sauce. Looked like the sauce would be spicy but it was not. The star, though, was the beef tongue. If you are eating at this restaurant you probably already eat, & love, organ meats. If not, now is your chance because this is the tastiest, most tender piece of meat we've ever eaten. In a demi-glace sauce that was perfect. The pork belly & lobster was so good we ate it even though we were getting pretty full. Just so delicious, &, again, both lobster & pork so perfectly cooked & a perfectly made sauce as well. So we were so full after that we....... OF course we had dessert! All 3 items. A crueller with creme (anglaise?) sauce, a baked Alaska & a creme brulee with a few candied orange zests. I wish there were more zests! Just fab with that brulee. All 3 were fabulous but the creme brulee was my fave. All in all a great experience we won't forget & hopefully will return to at a later date.
Absolutely loved our experience here. From the moment we walked in when the table was a bit delayed to the final dessert. Everything was performed to excellence. Our table of six enjoyed oysters, tartare, maitake, fois gras, faisselle, crème brûlée, & many more. Cocktails were fantastic & the wine selection super. Service was great, & we felt welcomed by the staff.

Wow! We found this place on Google & knew very little before arriving. We are very glad to have found it as the experience was outstanding. All of the dishes were utterly delicious, the wine (a local Quebec wine) was sensational & the service, especially from Mélanie, was exemplary. Mélanie was an expert in every aspect of every dish & made fantastic recommendations about both the food & wine. Our highlights were the beef tongue starter, the pork belly & lobster, the trottole plaster (a real dark horse) & the baked Alaska. We wish we were staying for longer so we could try everything else on the menu. Ridiculously good value for money - do not miss the opportunity!
Hands down one of the best dining experiences of our trip! The preparation & presentation of the food was very unique. Everything was absolutely delicious. Service was excellent. When you arrive to a restaurant for a timed booking, have to wait a few minutes & are being offered a complimentary glass of bubbles for the'inconvenience', you know that you will be in for a treat in how customer service is done well.
Our waitress was on top of everything. Very busy but still incredibly helpful & lovely to chat to.
It's not a quick in & out, but for us that was the joy in the evening. Just sit back, enjoy the atmosphere, admire the work of the chefs in the open-plan kitchen & enjoy the outstanding food, cocktails & wine. SUPERB!
Coming to Quebec City for the first time, I found Le Clocher Penche on Trip Advisor - which once again proved reliable. My friend & I had a wonderful meal in a comfortable environment with great staff. The steak tartare appetizer has to be called out - it is the best I have ever had anywhere! We both also enjoyed great cocktails & well chosen wines by the glass.
We have frequently dined at Le Clocher Penché over the last 10 years, sometimes several times in one year. The food experience has varied somewhat over time - as would happen in any dining establishment - but we have never had a regretful meal, something we cannot likewise claim regarding many well-known restaurants in town. The last several meals over at least two years have been consistently quite satisfying after a brief adjustment period associated with the change in kitchen leadership. Happily, the high standards established in years past remain intact. There are always good wine options & the staff is more than willing to accommodate certain dietary restrictions. So Le Clocher Penché remains one of our most reliable'go to' places to dine. I will return soon!
Professional but friendly service, super dishes done with a creative touch which we did by sharing. Wines for all tastes, very fairly priced. Will be our first choice next time in Québec City.
Incredible experience from beginning to end. We received Le Clocher Penche as a recommendation by one of the servers at Mon Lapin in Montreal. Upon arrival, we had a welcoming & informative server who was kind enough to translate in English for us since our French wasn't very good. All of our dishes were delicious & same with the cocktails & local Quebecois wine I tried. Would love to come here again any time I visit Quebec City.
The food was delicious. Very nice dishes delicately made. Tuna pastrami & the bone marrow were amazing. Good mix of meat & non meat offerings. Service was good, maybe tiny little bit slow. Great wine selection.
