An absolute pleasure for the entire evening. Wonderful atmosphere, not too loud, a fine way to dine. The food was fabulous, every bite was a taste sensation & they were very helpful in assisting with a nice wine to pair with our meal. Would absolutely go again
My spouse & I had dinner at le Clocher Penché during a quick Quebec City getaway. The room & atmosphere was amazing - cool vibe, & very warm & inviting. We were greeted warmly & sat at a fantastic corner where we had privacy but were also part of the room.
Our sever, Vincent was fabulous - professional, courteous, friendly, helpful - the consummate partner in our dining experience. The food was fantastic - amazing flavours & choices. I recommend that you speak to your server & have them provide recommendations - you won't regret it. Vincent even recommended a wine for us that we wouldn't have picked on our own & it was delicious. Merci Vincent - d'avoir rendu notre soirée & notre repas si spéciaux!
Food creativity. Delicious & well thought out. Using fresh local products.
Great cocktail & ambiance.
The whole staff are wine certified & has excellent knowledge in wine pairing

We had an outstanding meal with a very nice bottle of wine, recommended by our server. We started with their home made cheese & leeks, & the fried mushroom, both excelent. The hanger steak was perfection & the pork cheeks with pasta was decadent. We did not have room for dessert!
I'm writing this review as we just finished our dessert & had to make sure I share my experience because I hope anyone who reads this review understands that you need to come here.
From the beginning, we had such amazing service from our hostess Livia & server Zachary. We had a lovely wine recommendation & the food..
Every single bite we took made us go, wow. The combination of flavours, textures - everything worked so well together. We started off with the Fresh Cheese & Mackerel, followed by the Casarecce & Fish of the day (cod). The meats were so tender, melting in our mouths.. finally, the Baba dessert! I could have 10 of those.
If you are still looking for a good place to experience some amazing cuisine, look no further. We'll be back & recommending all our friends visiting Quebec City.
Bistro atmosphere, upbeat & energetic. Food is creative & imaginative & phenomenal. Flavours are complex & crafted. Service was attentive & knowledgeable. A memorable evening! Blood pudding was a revelation! Cost is appy+main+shared dessert before wine
Loved, loved, loved! Perfect from our greeting to our departure. Very pleased that le Cloché Penché is still in business & better than ever after 30 years!
The quality & freshness of the food is second to none. The creativity of the dishes allows you to rediscover & further enjoy familiar ingredients. The team are dedicated & obviously love their job. It is noticeable in the passion they display in presenting & discussing the food & wine offerings.
We are looking forward to our next visit.
As this was our first night in Quebec City, we did not know what to expect from the food scene. We were delighted with our meal. The service was excellent & the ambiance, casual, but clearly serious about food & wine, right up our alley. The hanger steak was excellent, perfectly prepared. The house made pasta in a tomato cream sauce was special. Definitely get the bread, the compound butter will blow you away. They were happy to let us split a delicious mozzarella & tomato'salad'…we wanted to save room for dessert. The crème brûlée was the best I have ever had. Thankfully a large portion because I practically had to fight my husband for my half! Such a delightful start to our Quebec vacation!!
Based on other reviews, this may have been an off night for the restaurant. The service was painfully slow, our server was distracted all night, paying plenty of attention to'specific' tables.
Our first round of drinks arrived 40 mins after sitting & second round of drinks didn't arrive until after our meals were complete (even glasses of wine). We were looking to have plently more drinks but decided to relocate.
The best part of the meal were the oysters. Two orders of cheese plates & gnocchi were subpar. Cheese plates tasted of sour cream with brussel sprouts. The gnocchi was one dimensional with butter dominating any other flavor. Two other orders at our table were cold upon arrival.
Excellent. Really enjoyed our meal there. Our server was absolutely fantastic. Provided some great recommendations for food & wine pairings. Will suggest to friends & family who are in the city to also check it out. The Halibut was some of the best we ever had & the homemade pasta with Norwegian shrimp was just superb. Don't hesitate!
