The food was OK. We ordered the duck drumsticks for an appetizer & it was delicious. I had the seafood linguine & asked for the cheese. I did not know it was going to be smothered & baked with the cheese. It made the whole dish too rich & it over powered everything. My husband had the steak & that was well done, however everything else on his plate was underwhelming. The service was friendly but non-existent. We were sat at the back & forgotten about. Out food took a long time to come out & when it did it was disappointing. Overall my experience wasn't horrible, but I definitely expected more from this place.
We had the Onion soup , a perfect mix of layers, melted cheese on top of a soft toast, a generous amount of onions in the perfect broth. Then we had an amazing bisque with lobster, prawns & scalops in a delicious creamy sauce. Highly recommend!
We had dinner here & sat at the bar because it was very busy. The staff were great & very friendly. The bar staff weren't the ones serving us but they greeted us & we're really kind. The food was okay. I ordered the Philly cheese steak & was a bit disappointed. The meat was like deli meat & not what I was expecting. It tasted okay but it was definitely underwhelming. My husband got the poutine & the pork that comes on it was dry & not super flavourful.
We dined here for dinner, & it did not disappoint. The place was quite busy on a Wednesday night, but luckily we got a table outside. Our server was very attentive, despite the restaurant being very busy. The food was amazing. We ordered pork chops & spaghetti with baked cheese. Both dishes were absolutely amazing, & their signature mocktail was impressive as well.
Food was pretty weak for the cost. Everything arrived cold from coffee to food. I ordered the healthy breakfast & it was 20 dollars for 1 poached egg on an English muffin, a small amount of cottage cheese & a meager amount of fruit. Some of the dishes our group ordered were tasty (the country duo wasn't bad), but everything was cold & in general we were pretty underwhelmed. It's a huge place, though, so if you need to get into somewhere with a hearty breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday morning, you'll likely be able to get in pretty quickly.
I ordered the Philly-style cheesesteak, which came with a side of'au jus' & fries which I upgraded to poutine fries. The sandwich itself was decent, but the'au jus' was a huge letdown. It was a thick, overly peppery sauce with an odd sweetness that didn't pair well at all. If you're looking for something to dip your sandwich in, I'd highly recommend going for a French onion soup. My girlfriend ordered it, & once I used her soup as the dip, the cheesesteak was so much better. Unfortunately, the poutine didn't impress either-it lacked the richness & flavor you'd expect, making the overall meal fall short of expectations. Despite the food, the service was excellent. Philippe, our waiter, was attentive & friendly, which made the experience more enjoyable. Sadly, the meal itself just wasn't a culinary highlight.
This is the only place around here had a lot of options for breakfast & some "lighter" breakfast fares & fresh fruits. Strawberries were white inside & some were not even sweet at all. I gave service 4 stars because the judgmental server sneered when I asked for cheddar cheese. We sat at the bar the next day just to avoid getting him as our server again.
Lovely place, very spacious. I had one of the brunch options including egg, local cheese & maple syrup waffles with season fruit. Big portions & really tasty!
I would recommend the breakfast at cochon dingue : benedict eggs bacon & cheese. Although the cheese was not really melted with the eggs & the bread became soggy after I started eating, it was still good. The baked potatoes were excellent! The service was great & the wait was not very long. The price is reasonable for the food, but drinks are a little more expensive. Basic drinks like coffee & hot chocolate were free, which was really nice!
