The food at Le Continental was delicious & beautifully prepared. The service was excellent - attentive, professional, & very welcoming. We had a wonderful dining experience & would definitely return. Highly recommended.
Nourriture correcte, sans surprise. Service normal, plutôt froid.
Nous étions la toute première table de la journée. Au moment de payer, le montant affiché sur le terminal ne correspondait pas à celui indiqué sur la facture. J'ai même demandé clairement si le pourboire était inclus, & le serveur a répondu que non.
Il a ensuite expliqué que le terminal ajoutait automatiquement les taxes, alors qu'il avait entré un montant déjà taxes incluses, ce qui revenait à ajouter les taxes deux fois.
Ce n'est qu'après avoir signalé l'erreur que le montant a été corrigé. Aucune excuse, aucune reconnaissance d'erreur.
Honnêtement, cette situation est très troublante & donne l'impression qu'on profite des clients qui ne vérifient pas attentivement l'addition, en particulier les touristes.
Inacceptable pour un restaurant de ce prix. Je ne reviendrai pas & je ne recommande pas.
I made a reservation to eat here as, honestly, there weren't many reservations left the weekend before Christmas & I managed to grab this one. Absolutely outstanding. It felt very old school, but in a good way! They opened the door to my Uber, which was so unexpected, & we were greeted at the door by the maitre d', as well as 3 or 4 waitstaff. Someone offered to take our coats & then we were seated. They will cook some of their offerings tableside. A proposal took place while we were there & was announced by the maitre d' after she accepted, with the whole restaurant celebrating the engagement. Everyone was super attentive & great at clearing the table or refilling waters without being disruptive. Our food was, I'm told, outstanding. Unfortunately, I had a cold & couldn't taste anything. Ugh, so frustrating. But my steak was tender & my family said everything (including my meal) was delicious! I would love to go back & order the same thing & actually taste it this time!!!

We had an early dinner here & what a memorable experience. Service was perfect, attentive, efficient & friendly. The carpaccio was excellent. The filet cooked at the table was perfect & seasoning one of the best ever. My wife's sole de dourve was the best she's had & orders it anywhere they serve it. Le Continental is a treasure & one we will always visit when in Quebec City.
We were a little early for our reservation, but they were able to seat us. Service was excellent, food was excellent. Only negative was that our server was a little stand-off ish. Kind of stood there looking away like we were wasting his time. Never said what came with entree. Ended up ordering sides that we did not need. Maybe it was the atmosphere the restaurant wanted to portray, because he was very personable & we had a good conversion. Tableside chef, however was very open & communicated on everything we was doing. Other waitstaff was very attentive.
Le Continental was exceptional. Their service was truly impeccable - attentive, warm & perfectly timed. & the food was the best we had in all of Québec. We ordered the lobster bisque, salmon & veal medallions. Every dish was prepared with such elegance & flavor that it made our evening unforgettable.Le Continental is an absolute must. Magnifique!!! from start to finish.
Last Friday, after years of hearing glowing recommendations from friends & colleagues, my wife & I finally made our way to Québec City to experience Le Continental for ourselves. We knew it would be on the pricier side (everyone had warned us) but it was worth every single penny. In fact, it turned out to be one of the most remarkable dining experiences we've ever had.
From the moment we stepped inside, it felt as though we'd entered another era, one defined by timeless elegance, warmth, & understated sophistication. The ambiance strikes a perfect balance between formality & coziness, making it both special & inviting. The staff are true professionals in every sense of the word... attentive without being intrusive, confident yet genuine. Watching the dishes being prepared tableside adds an extra touch of theatre that elevates the entire evening into something truly memorable.
As for the food, absolutely superb. Every course was executed with precision & care, & the attention to detail was evident from start to finish. It's clear that Le Continental is not just about serving a meal, but about crafting an experience.
Yes, it's an indulgence, but one that feels entirely justified. If you're looking for a dining experience that combines old-world charm, flawless service, & exceptional cuisine, Le Continental is an absolute must. We'll be talking about this evening for years to come.
Old world classics done to perfection by very attentive & professional staff. We make a point of eating here every time we are in Quebec city & have never been disappointed
The food & service at Le Continental were very good, attentive staff & food was well-prepared which made for an enjoyable evening. Unfortunately, when it came time to pay, the waiter added an extra $50 when charging our credit card, even though the printed bill was correct. We caught it & had it corrected, but it left us feeling disappointed after what had otherwise been a great meal.
