Les serveurs sont très agréables & la nourriture y est très bonne. J'ai pris des escargots en entrée, & une entrecôte flambée à la moutarde de Meaux & Dijon en plat.
We have visited the restaurant in past years, & were left underwhelmed this time. The service was courteous & friendly, but we were disappointed with the low flames, & the presentation of our dishes were lacking, especially our two flambée desserts. The steak & duck were tasty, but be ready for heavy use of butter. Our favorite Alaska bomb dessert was not on the menu. It's just a shame that the menu is static & there's no attempt to be creative like so many restaurants in the city. We are considering not returning in our upcoming visits.
This restaurant is superb. The food Was wonderful. The wait staff was so attentive & helpful. Our food was finished flambe style at the table. Just terrific experience overall, thank you so much to all who participated in our evening.
Every visit to Le Continental is special & this experience was another. Starting off with valet parking from Jeff-who remarkably remembered us-set a wonderful tone for the evening.
Our server, Guy, took excellent care of us throughout the night. His attention to every detail & humor is special. The food was nothing short of outstanding. The oysters on the half shell were incredibly fresh, & watching the lobster flambé being prepared tableside was an absolute highlight. To top it all off, the Brazilian coffees for dessert were spectacular. Amazing food, stellar service, & a beautiful atmosphere. Highly recommended to everyone!

Le Continental
Restaurant français présent dans le Vieux-Québec depuis près de 70 ans. Vous y aller pour la gastronomie, le service & le savoir faire des serveurs. Le seul restaurant du Vieux-Québec qui font des flambés à la table. Réservation nécessaire. Nous avons été accueilli de façon attentionné. Pour débuter, un cocktail spritz excellent. Suivi d'une salade César préparer à la table. Pour continuer, un chateaubriand flambé également à la table de façon impeccable avec cuisson parfaite. Les desserts, un gâteau forêt noir & une cassata au Grand Marnier pour terminer ce repas copieux & sans faute. Mention spéciale à notre serveur Hugo qui a été attentif & nous a offert tout un spectacle
The flambe experience is awesome. Steak was cooked medium rare, & melted easily in the mouth. The escargots were surprisingly tasty, & I didn't expect to like them as much as I did. Definitely worth a go if you never try. It tastes kind of similar to palak paneer. Medalion de mushrooms was creamy & a little bit spicy. The crab appetizer tasted amazing with the mushroom garlic sauce. The coconut chocolate easter egg dessert was well done too (it was an easter special). All in all a fun michelin dining experience
If you want to impress, it's definitely the place to be, especially if you love meat. The service is truly 5 star, very attentive from start to finish.
Everything we tried was delicious: foie gras, escargots, Chateaubriand, & crêpes Suzette. The flambé presentation is a really nice touch & makes the experience special.
The atmosphere isn't modern, but that's part of the charm, with white tablecloths & staff in white blazers, it feels like stepping back in time. Highly recommend for a special occasion.
I would definitely come back without hesitation!

Service exceptionnel
We have been to the Continental four times for anniversary celebrations. The best way to describe our latest experience is'tired'.
The restaurant is based on the presentation of its food with flamed in spectacular tableside preparation. While well done, this requires constant reparte with the waitperson preparing your food. This reparte diminishes the focus of a romantic dinner. You do not have to order it but the spectacle is impossible to ignore. If you do not have it, many other tables do. Flambe is everywhere!
My large piece of salmon seemed packaged & dull. My lobster tail was served with clarified butter that lacked taste. My white wine was served at room temperature.
We have enjoyed the place in the past but will not return.
Avec ma conjointe, nous avons fait le voyage entre l'Estrie & Québec pour vivre l'expérience de la préparation des mets à votre table y compris les flambées spectaculaires, de plus en plus rares dans les restos. Tout était à la hauteur, le service & la nourriture. Mémorable. Pour une occasion spéciale.
