I want to first start off by saying that our waiter Guy, was exceptional. He was funny, polite, friendly, attentive to our needs & all around AWESOME! I was very impressed by his service. He truly is where he is meant to be because he is VERY good at what he does.
Now the food. Ughhhh it was Devine! Absolutely delicious, decadent, flavourful, just amazing. I have absolutely nothing bad to say about this establishment! Just AMAZING!
We celebrated our 50th anniversary with dinner at Le Continental & it did not disappoint!
Le Continental is a lovely, elegant restaurant with attentive, but never intrusive service. We had a table for two in an intimate nook.
We ordered the chateaubriand for two & it was prepared to perfection. Great fun having it flamed at our table!
The entire evening was a memorable one. We are so glad we chose Le Continental for our special night.
Our dinner was simply magical. Francois was our waiter, & he was attentive & did a fantastic job cooking our steaks tableside. He also did a lovely job creating our dessert plates. The service at Le Continental is impeccable. We had flambé steaks, so those were prepared table side. Side dishes are brought out at the exact moment the steaks are ready, so everything is piping hot & delicious. We had eaten at Le Continental 29 years ago for our honeymoon & are thrilled that we were able to dine there on this visit. Fantastic experience for any special occasion.

A truly memorable experience. We had the duck & it was excellent! Our waiter was so attentive & watching the table side meal prep was a treat. Enjoyed everything about the evening. Would definitely go again if in the area.
It wasn't my first time patronizing this restaurant, so my review & impressions are not just based on this most recent visit.
The customer service is always superb, & very attentive from start to end, no matter the size of the party & the demands imparted.
Their wine list/menu is superb & so encompassing, from glass offerings to whole bottles & limited grapes, too.
Their food menu is "traditionally French" but that's by no means a criticism, it's a highlight if anything. Most of the steaks are cooked side table, the Caesar salad is also prepared side table, & so are some/most of the desserts.
If you're looking for an exceptional meal & evening out in Old Quebec - this is it, don't look any further or farther!

The food was amazing, service was attentive but not hovering & the staff were very friendly. It is no wonder this restaurant has been in business, in the same location, since 1956. I would highly recommend Le Continental!
First & foremost, the food & drinks were exquisite. Every dish was prepared with care & attention to detail, resulting in a symphony of flavors that delighted our taste buds. The drinks were also expertly crafted & complemented our meal perfectly. But it wasn't just the food & drinks that made this dining experience exceptional. The service was truly outstanding. The staff went above & beyond to ensure that we had everything we needed & that our evening was special. They were attentive without being intrusive & made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived.
The atmosphere was another highlight of our evening. The restaurant had a cozy, intimate feel, with soft lighting & tasteful decor that created a romantic ambiance. We felt comfortable & relaxed throughout our meal, & the overall experience was nothing short of magical.
Even the restroom was a pleasant surprise. It was impeccably clean & tastefully decorated, adding to the overall charm of the restaurant.
While the restaurant falls in the 4 or 5 $ sign category, the experience of dining there was worth every penny. If you're looking for a special place to celebrate a romantic occasion or just enjoy a delicious meal, this restaurant is a perfect choice.
