Terrific experience! Very classic French cuisine in a lovely setting. Our waiter was exceptionally good & we are so grateful to him. I never got his name but I had a coughing fit when I arrived (very embarrassing in the age of Covid) & he went into the kitchen & stirred up his mother's recipe--& it worked! He was so very kind & so very professional--& made a terrific Caesar salad & Duck a l'orange. His service absolutely made our evening!
We celebrated our 35th anniversary here. The table side preparation was fun to watch & we had the best Caesar salad that we've had in years! The châteaubriand was done perfectly with lots of flaming brandy! The crème brûlée was also spectacular. The venue, the tableside show & the personal attention made it an evening to remember. All in all it was well worth the price!
We went to Le Continental for our 10 year anniversary & it did not disappoint! We had the best Caesar salad we've ever had in our lives (prepared fresh right at the table!) Our Beef Wellington & filet mignon was superb. The service provided by Dénish was superb!
An incredible celebration for our 50th! A lovely table was set for us in a quiet corner looking out on beautiful flowers.
Our waiter, Alberto, exuded personality & a wonderful sense of humor while preparing the best Caesar Salad either of us have ever eaten, followed by the final searing of a perfectly-cooked Chateaubriand with mushroom sauce, accompanied by delicious vegetables & small roasted potatoes.
I asked for an Irish coffee; the steps Alberto followed, including a trail of flaming Hameson being poured into a heated glass with melted sugar heated onto the rim, we're extraordinary to watch.
We then shared a cream puff, with a candle, in honor of the event.
A beautiful restaurant, perfectly-prepared food, & an extraordinary waiter!
Fabulous! Flambeed everything! Outstanding service - our waiter was both an excellent chef & server. Every table was filled for an early sitting on a Tuesday night in July. Fantastic fifties cuisine - cherries jubilee, lobster Newburg (flambé of course), Caesar salad made at our table - a perfect birthday celebration.
Very nice meal & experience. Everything prepared table side -Caesar salad for two, Châteaubriand & cherries Flambé. Two cocktails & moderate priced bottle of wine had the bill about what you'd expect to pay for a better meal in any US city. Definitely recommend making this a part of your Quebec dining. Only disappointment was there is no dress code for a nice place. We were simply dressed for a nice nite out but at least one other patron was in a long sleeve T-Shirt. Sort of took away from the setting.
We had a date night out at Le Continental. We have been there before & were impressed by the food & services. This time around I thought the service was on par as was the food, though the price for the Caesar salad for 2 has gone up, & it seems they used pre-made croutons. I could be wrong, but for some reason it was slightly different than our first dining experience there. We had the chateaubriand which was cooked to perfection. Personally I thought it could have been seasoned slightly more, but other than that I can't complain as it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The sides were a little lackluster in seasoning as well, but we'll-cooked. We ordered few potato dauphinoise which was excellent. The kir & cabernet Sauvignon was excellent & went well with the meal. Overall we loved our date night.
First time at this storied resto & was very impressed by the attentive service, table-side prep of our Caesar salad & châteaubriand‘s final flourishes, & excellent food, drinks & dessert.
A fabulous 1st meal during our visit. Definitely a classic. Caesar salad was made very well. The beef capriccio was excellent. The scallops were cooked to perfection. Just a minor comment on the chateaubriand. We ordered it medium rare; however, with the sauce prepared at the table side, it should of been order rare. The minor flaw was that the sauce was prepared at table side, our expectation was the steak should of also been final touched too at table side. That's the only reason I deducted one star. Service was excellent. Will return.
