Really wanted an authentic french dining experience while visiting Old Quebec for a few days with my sister. Le Continental was all that I hoped for & so much more. Our waiter Denis was attentive but not over bearing or rushed. We had a reservation for 2 at 1700 & felt we got the best seat in house. Our Caesar salad was prepared tableside & the experience was very cool. Denis explained as he blended the dressing, it was definitely not your average salad. We also had escargot which was also amazing, not overly garlicky just right. For my entree I had the shrimp flambe & it was amazing not including the table side show which was also fun. Shrimps were succulant & presented beautifully. My sister had the Sirloin flambe & it was cooked as she ordered to perfection, with a table side show in tandem while Denis cooked my shrimp. & even if you don't usually have dessert you'll be amazed at the the cherries jubilee if you love cherries. Just amazing in every aspect of dining. Do yourself a favor & splurge at Le Continental while in Old Quebec, you will only regret it if you don't do it. Thank you, Denis & Le Continental.
A staple in Quebec, beautiful place, located in the middle of old Quebec by the chateau Frontenac, with traditionnal french food with great waiters & service. A bit pricey but well worth it.
I loved the experience. Table side French dining, & awesome customer service. I originally saw this restaurant watching Anthony Bourdain on'No Reservations'. The complexity of simplicity in food makes me want to come back for more.
Old school French restaurant. Excellent food. So many dishes are flambeed.
Thoroughly old-school classic French restaurant. No complaints about the food, but we were upsold on the potatoes dauphinoise option; were told no potatoes came with chateaubriand, but they did, so we had a lot of potatoes
We never miss Le Continental on our many trips to QC. With the many many restaurants in the old city to choose from, this is our favorite. If you enjoy top-notch French cuisine this is your best bet in Quebec City.
We left the restaurant feeling like we fell into a tourist trap. Average, over priced food. We were charge $19 plus tax & tip for 3 small pieces of cheese. The French fries felt like the cheap kind you get from a fast food restaurant, & the chocolate lava cake was over baked. The steak was ok but definitely not worth $70.
Classic French restaurant. The food & service are second to none. I have dined there upon every visit to QC.
We came for Christmas dinner & it was an unforgettable experience. A little "snobby" from the 👨🍳 because we don't speak French but the rest was delicious & amazing. Whatever you choose, you will not regret it.
