We left the restaurant feeling like we fell into a tourist trap. Average, over priced food. We were charge $19 plus tax & tip for 3 small pieces of cheese. The French fries felt like the cheap kind you get from a fast food restaurant, & the chocolate lava cake was over baked. The steak was ok but definitely not worth $70.
We came for Christmas dinner & it was an unforgettable experience. A little "snobby" from the 👨🍳 because we don't speak French but the rest was delicious & amazing. Whatever you choose, you will not regret it.

Le Continental was a spectacular experience all around. It is old world luxury, traditional French steakhouse & the very best in service all at once. We are grateful to have had the experience of dining at Le Continental. When we return to Quebec City, we will return to Le Continental.
We spent a long weekend in Quebec City & selected three highly rated restaurants for dinner, one for each evening. The experience at Le Continental was by far the worst of all three, from the perspective of the quality of the food. We are well traveled & have dined at numerous Michelin starred restaurants around the world, so we aren't concerned about the price of the meal, but we expect the food to be worthy of the price. Le Continental delivers great service & a trip back in time to what fine dining represented in the 1960's, but unfortunately the food remains stuck in the past. The Cesar Salad dressing had way too much raw garlic, the cheese croquettes were cold & the cheese still hard, our duck was overcooked & needed every bit of sauce to compensate for its dryness, the French fries were over-salted, etc. Overall the meal was poor or average at best. We dined at two other excellent restaurants in Quebec City for the price of the one meal at Le Continental & both of those meals were memorable for all the right reasons. We will not be dining here again.

First-class cuisine, wines, & service. It's definitely a "date" spot. Staff are in tuxedos/dinner jackets, so dress appropriately. The ability to speak French is appreciated but not necessary.
Rack of lamb was cooked to order. 5 ribs (2 doubles & a single), but the ability to carve it with utensils is a must. 😉 Potatoes & vegetables were properly done, not cooked to death. A memorable spot.
