Duck for 2 is disappointing, below our expectation. First, the server brought us a cold duck, which made him hard to carve. We saw other tables' ducks were steam hot. Secondly, he put too much sauce when he flambéed the duck. Lastly, the duck is too sweat & tough for our taste buds.
Dessert & drinks are not bad.
Overall, experience is ok. But did not taste the real French cuisine we were expecting!

Celebrated our wedding anniversary last night & it was exactly af advertised. Classic French food in a romantic atmosphere with exceptional service that created a new beautiful August 22nd memory for us
What an elegant, charming experience. We celebrated my love's birthday & were treated to an evening of sumptuous, fresh French food, gracious servers & the thrill of tableside flambé. The atmosphere was romantic & welcoming. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you for a memorable evening.
One of the best meals we've had in a long time, not just for the food which was delicious, but for the service, which was exquisite. We love all the tableside hoopla! Not for everyone, but it's nice to see servers who take their profession seriously. They were very courteous, even though we don't speak French. The ambiance is perfect for this type of dining. Being able to see planters with beautiful flowers was so nice. We definitely will return on our next trip to Quebec City.
It wasn't my first time patronizing this restaurant, so my review & impressions are not just based on this most recent visit.
The customer service is always superb, & very attentive from start to end, no matter the size of the party & the demands imparted.
Their wine list/menu is superb & so encompassing, from glass offerings to whole bottles & limited grapes, too.
Their food menu is "traditionally French" but that's by no means a criticism, it's a highlight if anything. Most of the steaks are cooked side table, the Caesar salad is also prepared side table, & so are some/most of the desserts.
If you're looking for an exceptional meal & evening out in Old Quebec - this is it, don't look any further or farther!
Le Continental is a charming old fashioned French Restaurant with modern day twist on old fashioned classics. If you want to be transported back in time when customer service still existed, then you have found your place. Not only is Le Continental aesthetically beautiful on the outside, but inside you will find old world charm & elegance from a long gone era while eating classic French Fare. We highly recommend you take the plunge & reserve a table to the way things used to be in the Grand Dame of Canadian Restaurants in the heart of Old Quebec. You won't go wrong with Le Continental.
