Great classic French restaurant where they cook many dishes tableside. I highly recommend a Rodney Strong Pinot Noir for a red wine. We got the filet mignon, which was cooked to perfection at our table. Vegetable side were great & the additional cream spinach & augratin potatoes were perfect. The texture & temperature of the steak was perfect. I prefer a little more seasoning, otherwise great cut that you should try. The escargot in garlic butter is very good. The lobster bisque is not something I would order again. It seems flour based vs creamy, a little fishy & the lobster was not prepared well (chewy). The service was great. Highly recommend this place.
It was our pleasure to dine at Le Continental on Thursday, 8 Sep at the strong recommendation by a good friend & lifetime resident from Quebec City. Visiting for our first time from Edmonton, Alberta, we were impressed by the welcoming greeting, accommodating seating, & attentive service. Denis, our server, prepared the Ceasar salad, Steak en boite, & Crepes Suzettes with great care & entertaining flame right at table side. Accompanied by an excellent French red wine from their extensive options, the entire meal was absolutely wonderful. We know our beef, & this was second to none, including to ensure it being cooked just right per request. As part of a 40 year marriage trip & celebration, it was the perfect place.

Salmon is delicious without sauce. Lol
Duck for 2 is disappointing, below our expectation. First, the server brought us a cold duck, which made him hard to carve. We saw other tables' ducks were steam hot. Secondly, he put too much sauce when he flambéed the duck. Lastly, the duck is too sweat & tough for our taste buds.
Dessert & drinks are not bad.
Overall, experience is ok. But did not taste the real French cuisine we were expecting!

Celebrated our wedding anniversary last night & it was exactly af advertised. Classic French food in a romantic atmosphere with exceptional service that created a new beautiful August 22nd memory for us
What an elegant, charming experience. We celebrated my love's birthday & were treated to an evening of sumptuous, fresh French food, gracious servers & the thrill of tableside flambé. The atmosphere was romantic & welcoming. We enjoyed every minute. Thank you for a memorable evening.
One of the best meals we've had in a long time, not just for the food which was delicious, but for the service, which was exquisite. We love all the tableside hoopla! Not for everyone, but it's nice to see servers who take their profession seriously. They were very courteous, even though we don't speak French. The ambiance is perfect for this type of dining. Being able to see planters with beautiful flowers was so nice. We definitely will return on our next trip to Quebec City.
