The reception was outstanding with the coat lady being super attentive, we were seated as requested through the reservation by a window - which was nice. & then it went downhill from there. Overall we felt rushed through the meal, servers taking glasses before we were done. It is important to add that the restaurant was busy but not full; we were the last seating at 8:00pm. The measure of the whiskies & cognac was minute.
Felt that the servers were all about the show of the flames at the tables while preparing the different platea/drinks that required. We were not into that, we were there for the food & a nice time together where we thought would be a nice restaurant
The chateaubriand was bland; it lack taste - even salt/pepper. Would not recommend.
Recommended by a friend & did not disappoint!. Outstanding experince!! Matthew & Isap (I think that was his name) Were delightful & very good at their jobs. Their level of service, the excellent quality of food & old school ambiance made it a most special evening in Quebec City!!! Merci beaucoup!
The main courses cooked at the table (filet mignon & sirloin) were done to perfection. The only part of the meal that was not good was the lobster bisque. The chunks of lobster were tasteless & tough. The bisque also had little flavor ... almost a fishy taste. I would not recommend this entree.
Couldn't have had a better experience. The Staff is superb & the service is unparalleled.
The flambe service is definitely a unique & highly recommended experience. Highly recommend the caesar salad because it is made right in front of you. The ambiance of the restaurant is gorgeous & the care that the staff puts into everything they do will touch your heart. Flawless & highly recommended restaurant.
Lovely dinner at Le Continental. Beautiful restaurant. Great food. We had the salmon & the scallops. Both were delicious. Enjoyed the chocolate moose & berry sorbet for dessert. Definitely would recommend.
Un très beau menu & carte des vins. Les flambées à la table sont spectaculaires & le service hors pair! Les pièces de viande sont excellentes, les portions généreuses & les cuissons à point. Déco un peu vieillot. Je recommande fortement.
We recently had the privilege of dining at Le Continental, an esteemed restaurant nestled in the historic heart of Quebec City, Canada. From the moment we entered, we were captivated by the old-world charm, accentuated by waitstaff donned in crisp white tuxedo jackets, who skillfully prepared many dishes right at our table. The evening commenced with a classic Negroni, a harmonious blend of gin, Campari, & sweet vermouth, artfully garnished with an orange peel. Alongside it, an extra dry vodka martini provided a sophisticated start to our culinary journey. The first act of this gastronomic ballet was the Salade Cesar, a Caesar salad for two, prepared tableside. The spectacle of its creation was as impressive as the salad itself. The server deftly combined egg yolk, olive oil, chopped anchovies, garlic, & Worcestershire sauce, among other ingredients, to craft what might just be the finest Caesar salad I've ever tasted. Truly a masterpiece in a bowl. Next, we delved into the Bisque de homard parfumẽe Au Cognac, a lobster bisque infused with a hint of cognac. It was a delightful departure from the traditional New England lobster bisque I'm accustomed to, offering a unique texture & flavor profile that was both surprising & satisfying. The pièce de résistance was the Boeuf Wellington Au foie gras poêlé, duxelle de champignons & sauce Périgourdine. This dish, a symphony of seared foie gras, mushroom duxelles, & Périgourdine sauce, elevated the classic Wellington beef to new heights. We paired it with a broiled lobster tail, creating an exquisite surf & turf that was both indulgent & memorable. Although the dessert offerings were tempting, we concluded our meal with signature cappuccinos, a perfect ending to an extraordinary dining experience. Le Continental is more than just a restaurant; it's a culinary institution that I would highly recommend to anyone seeking fine dining excellence. Their ability to blend tradition with innovation is truly "très magnifique!"
