Our fantastic dining experience began as soon as we walked in the door. We were greeted at the door & welcomed. All of the restaurant staff that saw us welcomed us & made us feel like we were regulars, even though this was our first visit. We ordered wine from the by-the-glass list; there was a very diverse list of wines & all of the wines on the list were very highly rated & the wine we had lived up to its very high rating. I also had the bartender make me a custom mocktail that was very good.
My main course, veal. was prepared in the kitchen & my spouse's steak was prepared tableside. Both were prepared beautifully & exactly as requested. The waiters were very attentive, but did not hover. Nabil, our waiter, made sure he understood our orders & requests & made sure that everything was done perfectly. The restaurant was obviously an older establishment but was spotlessly clean with very comfortable furniture & furnishings. Prices were higher than average, but not exorbitant & what one would expect for the exceptional service & food quality provided.
This was a last minute find for our adventure weekend. The staff is very professional & on top of their game. The food exceeded expectations with plating & taste. We were not dressed quite as well as we should have been but they never made of feel out of place & didn't treat us any differently. Would & will be returning.
June 3, 2026. 81 years old restaurant goer, from Montreal, Quebec. Absolute worst experience we have ever had in a restaurant. 8:00pm reservation & they sandwiched us at 2 seater table between 2 very large tables of men talking so loud, it was deafening. They moved us 3 times. I was upset & the Maitre D, kept on apologizing & had to realize how agitated I was. I was so agitated, I could not eat my meal. Salmon was dryish & salty & I hardly touched it . So many waiters & staff going back & forth with so much movement. They asked if we wanted dessert & I replied, no, I just want to get out of here. Full charge for the meal & the best he could do was absorb the Prosecco. What an insult. My wife's 79th birthday who had tears in her eyes. What a shame.
This was a difficult review for me. It was our anniversary dinner (28 years) & our first night in Quebec, so I made our reservations here because it appears to be awesome online. The property is gorgeous, so I'd love to say the atmosphere was amazing, but to be honest, we felt like our evening was completely rushed. They specialize in preparing (cooking) your steaks at your table. So at any one time there might be 3 tables with 3 pans with a lot of flame underneath, sometimes flashing nearly to the ceiling, all while what seemed like dozens of waiters running back & forth in a flurry of busy-ness. Our waiter seemed anxious for us to order, returning repeatedly to our table before we'd had time to read the wine/cocktail menu, & the food menu. Then when we ordered, he seemed irritated that we didn't order steaks, & every step of the evening felt rushed. Plates were taken from us even before we had completely finished. My wife & I prefer to keep both our plates on the table until both of us are finished, but we were not asked: they just grabbed my plate from me. Food flavors were OK, but did not really stand out, like the ambiance implied. Perhaps the steaks really are the thing to order here. The wine selection is very good, & again, the place itself is gorgeous.
