We've been regulars here, mostly for brunch, & have always enjoyed the food. Unfortunately, last night's dinner was a real disappointment, especially the steak. To start, there's only one doneness option for the steak: medium rare. Odd for a restaurant of this caliber, but we figured they must have perfected it. Turns out, we were wrong. The steak arrived almost entirely well-done, with only the faintest hint of pink in the center. We sent it back, expecting the mistake to be addressed professionally. Instead, the waitress met us with defensiveness & a baffling excuse: "Your steak was overcooked because you didn't eat it fast enough." As a chef, I know how absurd that claim is. Overcooking happens in the kitchen, not on the plate after it's served. I chose to walk away rather than escalate the situation, but the rudeness of that interaction left a bitter taste. Had they handled the mistake with grace, I might have returned. But after that encounter, I won't be coming back. It's a shame to see a place we used to enjoy fall so short.
Had a great but light brunch here, with super friendly & informative service (thanks for being so amazing)! We had the salmon gravlax, which was the highlight dish, we would definitely recommend. We had an Eggs Benedict which was very good too, & finally had a very refreshing cucumber drink which was recommended by the staff, lived up to its refreshing & tasty recommendation. A cute spot with nice indoor seating & a small outdoor patio too. Their dinner menu looked very appetizing & look forward to trying that in the future. Thanks!
Terrific brunch experience. The eggs benedict is a classic, but you must also get the salmon gravlax! The whole restaurant was being served by one friendly & wonderful man named Simon. Thanks for a perfect start to the day!
The restaurant staff is very friendly, making it a great way to start the day with a good conversation. I ordered the big brunch, which is very filling & good in both quantity & quality. The food is served on a heated plate, keeping it hot for longer. The coffee is decent, though nothing spectacular. They also offer jam or peanut butter for your toast. The ambiance is good, very clean, with soothing music. The staff is very friendly & makes an effort to speak English since I'm not fluent in French. I'll definitely come back again.
I had brunch here & it was so delicious that I returned for dinner. The atmosphere in the restaurant was great, & the staff were incredibly friendly & kind. Even the simple brunch items like bacon, sausage, & potatoes were very tasty & showcased the chef's skill. We also had hummus & egg dishes for brunch, & everyone in our group was very satisfied. For dinner, we had fried bread, scallops, salad, steak, & the seafood of the day, & everything was excellent. This is definitely a restaurant I would visit again next time I'm in Quebec.
Went to have brunch at this restaurant with some friends. I first ate there in 2018 or 2019 - that time i had eggs benedicts on a parisbrest bread, & it was honestly one of the best eggs benedicts i've had - so i was really excited to go back. Sadly, my experience this time was not great. While the service & atmosphere were excellent, I was very disappointed with the food, as the portions were much smaller than they used to be, & the food was extremely blend (barely any taste in most dishes except maybe the bene-ghetti which had some flavour). Won't be recommending that place anymore... unless they step-up (& they need to step up quite a lot).
