My husband & I celebrated our anniversary at Le Hobbit, ordering the duck & homemade sausage. Both dishes were presented artfully with with delicious, complex flavor combinations, reminding us of fine European restaurants. We loved the oyster appetizer & the soup of the day as well as the delicious homemade bread. The wait staff was knowledgeable about the wine & helped me pair it well with my entree. For dessert, we had a buckwheat cookie with fresh lemon cream & a flavorful strawberry mousse, topped off with a delicious cup of espresso!

The chef at Le Hobbit is innovative with each selection, a discovery to savor. We found our waitress, Christine, to be welcoming, with a wonderful "joie de vivre". She was also very patient with our rusty French. We found the other waitstaff to be very kind & knowledgeable as well. We really enjoyed the table overlooking Rue Saint-Jean- a relaxed, pleasant atmosphere.

Service was fantastic, good wine list, appetizers were very nice. Burrata was unavailable, they substituted a massive ball of fresh mozzarella which was lovely but only a small amount of crostini cane with it. When we asked for more, we got some fluffy bread which didn't work with the texture of the cheese. Sadly, none of our entrees were good. The halibut was dry, & the amazing cauliflower purée couldn't save it. The grilled octopus was overcooked & mealey. The porchetta was very disappointing, the smoked mussels in the dish were good but the overall impression of the dish was a big plate of sad bacon with nothing to balance the flavor or texture. Lack of balance is a consistent theme of the dishes here. Too much of this, not enough of that.

The best meal we had while visiting Quebec. The fresh soup was amazing. I had the Vegetarian Wellington & my husband had the Guinea Fowl. Both dishes exceeded our expectations. Dessert were outstanding. We had a reservation, highly recommends having. The restaurant is very quaint. .

The visit to Le Hobbit was very nice. My daughter & I had the beef shoulder with a wine sauce. In addition it came with a salad & French fries. My wife had the hamburger with Fries. All dishes were very good. We started our meal off with a bowl of French onion soup. Very tasty.

Delicious onion soup. A little disappointed that there weren't more options on the menu. Only 1 burger & all the other dishes like duck & bison are not for me

We were a group of four that shared two appetizers & had four main dishes. The appetizers were a little overcooked, the main dishes were great. There was a lot of waiting time. The appetizers took a long time to arrive, once we finished it was over 40 minutes to receive our main dishes. The waiter mostly ignored us while we were waiting for our food to arrive. Between courses the waiter mostly ignored us; he didn't even try to give an excuse for the delay, very frustrating. It wouldn't have been so frustrating if he had at least spoken with us about the delay. I thought that with such a late reservation the kitchen staff would have wanted to feed us & get out of there. No excuse until the end when he was unhappy with his tip, when he said there was a delay in the kitchen. He should have spent some time with us rather than drinking & chatting with his co-workers.

Visited Le Hobbit with my wife November 25th.
We were well received a the door & promptly seated next to the front window on a nice snowy night.
My wife loved the onion soup while I enjoyed the Trout tartare. Both dishes were fantastic.
Our main courses were Crab Risotto while I had the Lamb Chops. The Risotto was cooked perfectly. The Lamb was a nice pink in the middle with the right amount of spice to make the that much more enjoyable.
I would recommend this to anyone. It's just a short walk outside the old city wall.
