I really wanted to love this place based on Google photos, their website, & prior reviews, but it was a disappointment. (We only tried Le Hobbit for brunch, so this review only applies to that. Perhaps, the dinner is better). First, there was only one server, so we waited forever to get drinks, food, our bill etc. Service was very slow & uninviting. Second, the food was subpar, & there was way too much food on the plate. I was surprised by the serving size, & the server never warned me or I would have modified my order. The food quality was average at best. This was by far my least favorite breakfast / brunch during our visit to Quebec City. Finally, we sat for a long time waiting for the server to come back with the pay machine only for him to tell us that we need to take the bill to the bar. I really can't recommend this place, but if you go for brunch, just expect it to be a very average experience & probably not worth the money.
Le Hobbit is our new favorite spot in Quebec City. The food is excellently crafted with high quality ingredients. The menu is unique. The staff were all lovely. The atmosphere is cute. This is a perfect french style eatery that is not too abstract in form. It's just the right amount of elevated, while remaining practical as an eatery. I am so delighted have dined for their Easter dinner & then also for one of their fantastic breakfasts. I highly recommend Le Hobbit. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to come back.

Cute spot with really good service & really cute vibes. Like the name suggests, the ambiance is quite hobbit feeling. Cozy, comfortable & inviting.
The eggs benedict is a little odd - unique for sure, but not my cup of tea. A bit too different for my personal liking.
The chicken & waffles however were fantastic, & highly recommended.
The deviled eggs looked delicious, would definitely try those the next time I'm in town.
Lattes can use some work, but definitely one of the better lattes I've had at a brunch spot that isn't a dedicated cafe. Taste was good but latte art & milk texture needed some work.
My partner & I found this restaurant while on a walk & I'm so glad we did! We stopped in on a Monday afternoon & they were serving their brunch & lunch menus. It was relatively quiet with a few tables filled with folks on business lunches or casual hang outs.
We sat down right away & I asked if they had iced tea, to which our incredible server replied,'no, but I can make one!' & then proceeded to make the most delicious & refreshing beverage! Everything we had was absolutely fantastic & it ended up being one of our favorite meals in the city. The Çilbir had the most fresh & delicious garlic yogurt with chickpeas roasted to perfection. The poached eggs & yogurt made it easy to scoop up the chickpeas for a full & delicious bite. I'll be dreaming about this for a long time. Somehow this was only $13 CAD as well!
The tartiflette was also amazing. I wanted to drink the sauce right out of the bowl. The bacon was thick & flavorful. The homemade focaccia was…perfect. Loved the butter.
The deviled eggs were so incredibly tasty. The fried chicken skin on top was the perfect addition for texture & well-seasoned.
HIGHLY recommend coming here. We can't wait to come back!
Very good service, we went for Valentine's Day. They had a special tasting menu for that day. Skipping the tasting menu, we order'a la carte'. We had 2 appetizers, Brie cheese with'tartinade de figues', which was very good, & the Duck Tartare. That second plate wasn't very good, it lacked flavor.
For the main course we ate Boudin (blood sausage) &'Encornet braisé', which is a mix of Calamari with Snails & foie gras. The boudin was good & the encornet was very flavorful. That last one was a taste I really can't compare to anything, but very good.
I recommend this place, the whole team is very knowledgeable about the dishes & the service is impeccable.
This was the best food & cocktails I've ever had. This restaurant is a must if your in the city. Highly recommend the ravioli, steak & the yuzu sour. Bon appetite.
