Great atmosphere & really good fresh made food

Went here three times in a short spell in Quebec City. A perfectly good spot for people watching & the staff is attentive, but they need to be taken to task for two severe failings. The food, whether euro hot dogs or lobster rolls or frites, is salted well past the point of edibility. This is particularly annoying when the lobster roll is a pricey menu item & - the humble lobster being a denizen of the briny Atlantic - it should never be salted to death! Second, in each of our three times there we were told there would be live music that night at 6:00PM - which is why we went there - & each time it magically failed to appear. I don't know if they have musicians that keep ghosting them or if they decide there's not enough business to merit a musician & send him or her away at the last minute, but it's obvious they don't tell customers the truth. Engagingly, they have a spring that bubbles out of the cliff in the back room & it burbles away down a little private stream they have built for it.

Chaudrée de fruits de mer anémique contenant 3 ou 4 morceaux de poisson à un prix exorbitant. Même chose pour les pâtes aux fruits de mer : 3 crevettes nordiques & 2 mini pétoncles. Un attrape touristes ?

French fries were 3/4 of an inch & not just some the whole order for two separate dishes.
Lobster roll was ok the fish & chips for pre-made & then thrown in some sort of cookery thing, not good.
Should have known by the fact that it was the only restaurant around that had mostly free tables.

Essen war wirklich sehr gut und authentisch. Wir hatten die Lobster Roll und den Seadood Chowder.
Als wir gerade mit dem Essen fertig waren, wurden wir schnell gebeten, zu zahlen, das war etwas zu harsch.

Always our first stop when passing through Quebec City. A cozy little bistro in a historic building. Grab a seat at the bar, order the cheese plate & have a few drinks with the locals.
