Everything looked fresh & delicious. Unfortunately, there weren't any gluten-free options. I ended up trying the crème brûlée, & it was amazing. Hopefully they'll offer some gluten-free pastries in the future.
The bakery is absolutely beautiful, & the pastries look & taste amazing. We've visited a few times, & I think they really excel at their viennoiseries (the croissants, pain au chocolat, & other pastry items are outstanding). In my opinion, these are much better than the small cakes & desserts they make.
I do wish there wasn't always such a rush. Every time we've visited, there have been long queues, & the staff seem to be constantly hurried. It would also be nice to be able to sit inside & enjoy the pastries & the pretty bakery.
Whilst I know it's not really a cafe, one thing that has consistently disappointed us are the coffees/cappuccino. They arent great & every single time we've ordered one, it's always a half a cup full. We always say we won't order it again, but we end up doing so out of convenience. Most recently, we ordered two cappuccinos, & once again there was a noticeable inconsistency- one cup was full, while the other was only half full. Despite loving the bakery & its pastries, this has been a recurring thing, which is weird cause coffee & pastries do go hand in hand
Wow! These reviews weren't kidding when they said this place has the best pastries! The aroma of freshly baked goods welcomes you when you step into the bakery, & the selection is just incredible. Not only did everything look good but it tasted AMAZING! The chocolate almond croissant was delicious, perfectly baked, not too sweet, & fresh. The apple croissant was also the best I've ever had, so flaky & sweet! My only regret is not getting more because I'm still craving it. I've been to a lot of bakerys but this one is one of the best!
The coffee was the only downside…it was hot which I love but neither mine nor my friends cup was filled up. Half of the coffee was just foam. The staff were kind & helpful towards me, but didn't seem too happy 😂
Would come back here 100%!! A must in Quebec!!
What a fabulous stop on the way to Jacques Cartier! Staff is helpful & is good at assigning other staff to help in different areas. I got croissants & various pastries, as well as a fresh ham quiche. I also snagged a sandwich for later when I'm done hiking. The coffee is just Nespresso so I bopped next door to Tim's for a latte.
Vegetarian American family of 5 (with three teens). This bakery was one of the most memorable food experiences of our Quebec winter trip. We consider ourselves bakery connoisseurs. Pastries, bread, sandwiches, quiches, pizzas, every single item was spectacular. Standout surprises: chocolate almond bread, quiches. The sandwich took me back to my visits to Paris. Very little room to eat (there were two small tables when we were there) but we managed to make it work.
