Le restaurant était plein à craquer quand on est arrivés mais on a pu avoir une table pour quatre.
Il y a une bonne variété de plats asiatiques & sushis au menu. J'adore les sashimis & le poisson servi (thon rouge, saumon, pieuvre) était frais. Les portions sont petites alors il ne faut pas hésiter à en redemander.
Service courtois & très rapide.
À noter que les tables sont réservés pour un maximum de 2 heures, ce qui est légèrement trop court mais ça fait partie du modèle d'affaires. Avec 2 h 30 j'aurais eu le temps de prendre une autre bière 🍺😉😀
Trois fois que je passe au Sushi Kumi & trois fois que j'en ressort avec une appréciation rehaussée.
Cette fois-ci mon ami & moi avons été chaleureusement servi par Nada & plusieurs autres. C'était la première fois pour mon ami. J'ai commandé un saké (Sayuri) très léger à partager avec Simon. Il a grandement apprécié sa légèreté & sa nature crémeuse (non filtrée). Nous avons prit le'à volonté'. Les portions ne sont pas trop grosses, donc on peut essayer plusieurs aliments. J'adore leur sashimi au saumon, leurs crevettes tempura & leur poulet au curry. La crème glacée était juste parfaite pour couronner le tout. J'ai même offert un sayuri (saké) aux cuisiniers pour la qualité & la présentation de nourriture.
Sunshine est venu nous remercier, disant que nous etions les premiers à offrir un ptit quelque chose à eux en 7 ans.
Bref, nous allons revenir encore, & encore, & encore.
- Salmon/Tuna Sashimi not really fresh - Beek tataki way too thick & no sauce. It's supposed to be thinly sliced with a ponzu sauce. - Montblanc roll = No real lobster - Mussels were cold & not even baked - Restaurant was understaffed. Waitress was all over the place plus she forgot our order. - Spicy mayo sauce is extra (2$)

Overall I don't think this restaurant wowed me, it seems like every sushi buffet serves the same food, but the quality of the food is quite different. This place is ...below the average We went there on a weekend lunch, there were a few things that disappointed me 1, they don't have a tablet to order but traditional paper, which is not convenient for me with my average French 2, their waiters don't tell us what sushi it is when they serve it, so we don't know who it belongs to & can only guess 3, their wonton soup has almost no meat, all flour, very poor selection 4, their tempura shrimp is really small, about the size of my finger 5, their sashimi is not fresh. The above is just my personal opinion, it doesn't affect their good business, & the waiters are very friendly. If there is no improvement, I will not go again
Des sushis en veux-tu en voilà ! Cela fait pas loin de dix ans que je vais régulièrement chez Sushi Kumi, en semaine, la fin de semaine, le midi ou le soir. Le service est toujours impeccable & incroyablement rapide que le restaurant soit plein où non (il faut par contre toujours réserver). On sent une équipe qui a plaisir à travailler & qui connaît bien ses produits. Tartares, sashimi, teriyaki : si vous ne voulez mangez que du très bon poisson crû c'est possible! Lorsqu'il y a du riz, c'est toujours dans des proportions raisonnables. C'est pour ces raisons que ce restaurant se distingue des autres restaurants de sushi & de sushis à volonté. Bref mon préféré !
I was told by a lot of people to try this place for sushi. & I wanted to love it but it was OK. I'm from Toronto so it is hard to beat really good sushi. PROS: the designs/interior decorations are really nice! Very cool. -service was good. Fast & efficient -there were some dishes that stood out: Salt & pepper squid Saumon flambé, thon flambé kimchi, kamikaze, spécial kumi CONS: -No wasabi/ginger that comes with the sushi (It's the first time I've seen That) ***nvm, you have to ask for them in order to avoid wasting too much but it's free) -A lot of the sushi rolls are more saucy ( sweet sauce, spicy mayo) I'm more of a simple sushi girl & even their sashimi was OK. -Shrimp tempura didn't come with the usual ponzu sauce but spicy mayo again. -it was more catered to a western taste (more sauces on top of sushi) which is not a bad thing for some people but not for me. Also, DONT FORGET TO MAKE A RESERVATION.
Kumi is an all-you-can-eat (ayce) Japanese restaurant. Weekend cost is $37.99 per adult, while weekday cost is $34.99. There are about 60 items to choose from. The categories are: 1. Appetizer (edamame, seaweed salad) 2. Nigiri 3. Sushi 4. Rolls (dragon) 5. Mini poke bowls 6. Tartare 7. Sashimi 8. Fried food 9. Cooked noodle or fried rice 10. Dessert The sashimi choices include salmon, tuna, pollick, egg & octopus. Each slice is very thin & narrow. We tried the teriyaki chicken noodle which was heavily marinated in soy sauce. The service was top-notch, attentive, & quick. We received our food within 10 minutes of our order. We finished our dinner within 1 hour. PS - if you don't finish all your sushi or sashimi pieces, they would charge you $2 for each unconsummed piece.
Il faut choisir les bons sushis pour que ça vaille la peine, mais ils sont délicieux. Les sashimis de saumon, les nigiris de thon épicé & la pieuvre sont très bons.
