ARVI is shaking conventions to return to the essence of human experience in restoration. It expresses a free kitchen, strong in character, carried by the same team, from the stove to the customers. The seasonal products are declined in two menus whose dishes are made before your eyes, in a spirit of proximity and friendliness as pleasant as unusual.
ARVI offers a unique and memorable fine dining experience in Quebec City, characterized by its innovative open kitchen concept where the culinary team manages both the cooking and the service. Guests frequently praise the warm, welcoming atmosphere and the professional, attentive staff who contribute to a relaxed, authentic environment. The tasting menus highlight creative, well-crafted dishes that showcase local ingredients, with the signature foie gras and thoughtful wine pairings frequently earning high acclaim. While some diners have noted individual preferences regarding wine styles or the unconventional service flow, the vast majority of visitors describe their time at the restaurant as an exceptional, high-quality journey that stands out as a must-visit destination for food lovers.
A fabulous experience from first to last! Amazing staff, stunning food & flavors, & the most personal attention to detail I've experienced in a restaurant in many years. Bravo to all! My wife & I are already planning our next trip & bringing friends to share the experience. A must if you're in Quebec & love top quality food & wine!
I had a wonderful evening at Arvi. The staff/chefs were very knowledgeable, warm & enthusiastic about the food they prepared. I even got a chance to
see the beeswax covered truffles for myself!
The meal, & its accompanying wines, was a gastronomic pleasure that I haven't experienced in a long time. The courses were for the most part well-balanced, & there were several flavour combinations that worked beautifully despite what may have sounded like odd pairings. The star of the meal was the braised pork. Marinated in wine must, which was also used to make an extraordinary sauce, I was blown away by the textures (a surprise crunch from the skin hidden beneath slivers of kohlrabi), the smells & the flavours.
The least successful dish, in my opinion, was the dessert, which was a carrot & honey cake. It sounds like it would be quite a moist & decadent cake, but it fell flat for me. The best part of that dish was the cream on the side, made from creme chantilly & chaga mushrooms. The slight bitterness from the cream was crying out for balance in a rich & sweet cake, which was not present. The cake lacked any real depth of flavour & was quite bland. This dessert is a new addition to the menu, however, so I hope that with some tweaks it might match the pleasure the pork induced.
Overall, the meal & the evening were beautiful. Arvi makes it a point to source as many ingredients as possible from its surroundings. Several of the wine accompaniments came from Quebec, which was a pleasant surprise as I had never tasted wine from this region before. Who knew Quebec could make such gorgeous wine? My favourite was the Pinard & Filles Frangine 2021, a white wine that was served with the dessert. It was very reminiscent of the gorgeously fruity but dry Sauvignon Blancs of New Zealand.
I recommend this dining experience & hope to return one day. Thank you!

Fantastic Food & experience! Perhaps the best restaurant we have been to on this trip. Each plate in the 5 course tasting menu was excellent & the wine pairing perfect. The staff are amazing! Would highly recommend ARVI to anybody.
Hands down one of the best dining experiences of my life. Food was incredible as was the service, frankly not sure I have ever had better service at a restaurant. The food was exciting, interesting, & complex. Each course more interesting than the one before.
Fantastic wine & the help with selecting each bottle was perfect & spot on.
Would come back to Quebec for this restaurant alone.
Our dinner at ARVI was perfect! The food was delicious & beautifully presented. The space is quite minimal in decor with the focus being on the prep stations. Sitting in an open kitchen was not at all distracting or intrusive, quite the opposite, it was fascinating. The service was outstanding. It was a pleasure to interact with all of the staff, each was very informative about the food & drink & were happy to answer any & all questions. The wine pairing choices were excellent. I would highly recommend ARVI to anyone who appreciates quality food, with outstanding service in a friendly casual atmosphere.
Dinner at Arvi was truly a delightful experience. The staff did both the meal & drink preparation as well as serve & explain each course. It was an interactive experience & very educational as well. I would definitely recommend the wine pairing. The food was excellent. It was a very memorable experience & was a great way to wrap up our visit to Quebec.
We enjoyed a wonderful dinner that took us on a journey of the best Quebec has to offer locally in the summer. Not only did we we experience the flavors of local produce but we also enjoyed local wines that were paired with our meal. The energy in the kitchen spills out in the dining area & every chef/server touches your table & explains each dish. A truly enjoyable evening.
Was an amazing experience & service was excellent. Had a fantastic time! Loved how they explained where wine was from & background & also what we were going to be eating. Amazed at what they served words cannot even describe it. Thank you for a great time.
