ARVI is shaking conventions to return to the essence of human experience in restoration. It expresses a free kitchen, strong in character, carried by the same team, from the stove to the customers. The seasonal products are declined in two menus whose dishes are made before your eyes, in a spirit of proximity and friendliness as pleasant as unusual.
ARVI offers a unique and intimate dining experience that consistently impresses guests with its creative, refined, and flavorful cuisine. The open kitchen concept, where the entire team actively participates in both preparing and serving the dishes, fosters a warm, welcoming environment that feels like dining with friends. Many diners highlight the exceptional attention to detail, the thoughtful use of local ingredients, and the highly recommended wine pairings as key elements of their visit. While a few guests had differing preferences regarding the unconventional service style or specific flavor profiles, the overwhelming majority describes the restaurant as a must-visit destination in Quebec City, frequently praising the professionalism of the staff and the memorable nature of the meal.
A little too progressive, some dishes just didn't have enough flavor. The wine selection was weak with low alcohol, unripe wines. The sparkling red at the end was undrinkable. people were great!
Excellent meal. We did the vegetarian tasting. Absolutely loved every course & wine. The servers/ chefs were super friendly & explained each course thoughtfully! We loved loved loved our meal & will def be back next trip. Excellent all around
Absolutely incredible dining experience in Quebec City. The service was amazing from start to finish - the staff were attentive, knowledgeable, & genuinely welcoming. Everyone was calm, friendly, & more than willing to answer questions or help with anything we needed, which made the entire evening feel relaxed & special.
The food was some of the best I've ever had. Every dish was meticulously crafted & beautifully plated, with an incredible level of care & attention to detail. You can really tell how much thought goes into both the flavors & presentation.
The wine pairing was equally impressive, featuring thoughtfully curated wines that appeared to focus on natural production methods, seemingly avoiding unnecessary additives & chemicals in both the grape growing & winemaking process. Each pairing complemented the dishes perfectly & elevated the experience even further.
This is an absolute must-visit when in Quebec City. Highly recommend for anyone looking for an exceptional culinary experience
We were disappointed in Arvi. It felt very performative & the food choices were limited. Degustation only. - which is fine unless you're not a big seafood person in which case the only option is vegetarian. There was a lot of foam broths / emulsions involved. The whole menu was just trying a bit too hard. The lowlight was a dish of almost raw onions in an onion emulsion. It was terrible. & we could still taste the next day. Wine list is good. - but avoid the cocktails - I had a margarita & it was very lacking. Arvi has lots of great reviews & was recommended - perhaps it just wasn't for us.
Nous sommes plus que ravi de notre soirée à ce restaurant exceptionnel. Le concept & l'équipe est plus que parfait. Agréablement surpris & franchement satisfait!! Merci & à la prochaine assurément. Pat & Marie 🫶
My visit to Arvi left me with mixed feelings. With the restaurant often associated with a Michelin-level dining experience, my expectations were naturally quite high.
Unfortunately, the evening started with a noticeable delay. Our reservation was at 7:00 PM, yet the first appetizer arrived only at 8:00 PM. Waiting an entire hour for the first bite felt unusually long for a restaurant positioning itself at this level of fine dining.
As for the cuisine, while there were moments of creativity, only about three dishes truly stood out as being at the level one would expect from a Michelin-caliber kitchen. One of these was a pleasant surprise from the chef, which was indeed memorable & thoughtfully executed.
The wine pairing, however, felt less precise than expected. The selections did not always complement the dishes in a harmonious way, & the overall pairing seemed somewhat unfocused.
There were certainly highlights during the evening, but when dining at a restaurant of this reputation, one hopes for a seamless experience - where timing, precision, & harmony between food & wine come together effortlessly. Unfortunately, that balance was not fully achieved during this visit.
