Cozy creperie, also serving yummy onion soup, gratins, & salads. Breakfast too, though we had lunch. The maple butter crepe for dessert was delicious. Food good, service attentive. The place was full, but we were seated quickly.
Some say I am a fan of onion soup. My grandfather's favourite soup was onion soup & my palate has graced many onion-infused meals in a long & fulfilling onion soup-filled life. I can confidently say, therefore, that Au Petit Coin Breton quite simply has the best onion soup. Better than the soups I've had in the Savoie region of France. Most magnificent.
For a true culinary journey be sure to check out the Au Petit Coin Breton in Old Quebec City!!
The food was so delicious that we found ourselves returning for dinner after an unforgettable brunch experience.
The cozy ambiance of the restaurant, paired with the warm & welcoming staff, made us feel right at home. Watching the chef prepare our crepes was so much fun.
Be sure to try out the the Crepe Fernande, French Onion Soup, & the Crepe Suzette. Each dish was a real masterpiece, bursting with flavour!!!
Excellent value for such high-quality food & service makes Au Petit Coin Breton a must-visit!
The crepe was amazing. The onion soup was not the best I had. It wasn't bad but definitely not the best.
The reason I deducted two stars for the atmosphere as there were flies flying around our food throughout the night. Otherwise, it was an overall positive experience.
The food, service, & atmosphere were excellent!
They were able to quickly seat our party of 7 shortly after we arrived. The staff was cheerful & personable. They provided recommendations for cider which was excellent as well as help us to connect to wifi. Our favorite dishes were the french onion soup (my son said it was the best soup he has ever had & we ordered a second), the salad (simple but delicious dressing), & the dessert crepes. Several people in our party commented on the atmosphere being pleasant.
Ordered one salty & one sweet crêpe, both are great, particularly the salty one tastes like good chowder soup in crêpe!
Visited Quebec for the first time, & Au Petit Coin Breton was the first restaurant where we got food. We were met by a kind lady who knew English & helped us navigate through the menu. I ended up ordering the best food of my life!!! Onion soup was very cheese & saturated. The other thing that I ordered had the best combination of flavors (mushrooms, ham, & cheese). All this is worth the price! Other waiters were checking in with us all the time. Best experience when traveling! 🫡
Look no further. This is the one you are searching for! My family loved the savory (ham & cheese) & the sweet (banana & nutella) crepes. The french onion & split pea soup was also splendid. Also the coffee & hot chocolate (chocolat chaude) were terrific. The prices were fair. The ambiance is local & authentic. We tried a lot of local cuisine, & this was tops.
Usually there is a line outside to get in, but it worth the wait! We got lucky & got in quickly as the weather was super bad & it was first of January! Crapes are delicious & remind me of my grandmas. & onion soup is the best in the area!
The food was delicious. Had a buckwheat crepe & onion soup. The music was a little loud, but overall a cozy place with good food.
Hands down best french onion soup I had in Quebec. Quaint restaurant, nice little patio, staff were lovely
food based on pancakes, with different fillings, interesting, new & tasty. onion soup...yummi
We went here in October 2022, I know, late for the review, but honestly I couldn't NOT write a review -- We LOVED it. Very kid friendly, no on-site parking (but really, what is...) but easy to find, & HIGHLY recommend. I wish we ate here twice! Huge menu, sweet, savoury, delicious soups, amazing crepes. & great prices!! We were a party of 6 & pleasantly surprised once the bill came. I loved how we could see the great staff making our crepes as we sat. Oh man, I'd go back just to eat here again!
Insane food here. Hands down best crepes. We ordered the strawberry dessert crepe yesterday & it blew our minds. We came back today for bacon (the savoury crepe) & onion soup & it's the best onion soup we had in Quebec.
