Vraiment déçu de la qualité de nos boeufs. On était 4, & un de nous a carrément fini par aller manger chez McDo…

W a reçu un filet mignon sec, G, sa côte de boeuf était beaucoup trop cuite, & moi… j'ai reçu une côte de boeuf que j'ai même pas de mots pour décrire.

C'est tellement dommage, parce que je pensais vraiment que cet endroit était excellent, mais nope… grosse déception.

La sous-chef à pas accepté mon verre….

Really disappointed with the quality of our steaks. There were four of us, & one of us literally ended up going to McDonald's…

W got a dry filet mignon, G's rib steak was way overcooked, & me… I got a rib steak that I honestly don't even have the words to describe.

It's such a shame because I genuinely thought this place was supposed to be excellent, but nope… huge disappointment.

The sous-chef didn't accept my glass…

Cuisson du filet mignon (bleu) parfaitement exécutée. Accompagnement un peu simpliste : j'ai pris le riz & c'était un simple riz blanc basmati au beurre, mais il était excellent. Il y avait également des fleurons de brocolis vapeur, & une mousseline de betteraves à l'ail qui était étonnante mais finalement très bonne. Le dessert était une crème brûlée à la fleur d'oranger excellente aussi. Le cappuccino était complètement raté.

Nous sommes vraiment déçu de notre visite, nous avons débuté en commandant un french martini & le serveur nous regarde avec une drôle d'air en nous répondant qu'ils n'ont pas ce genre d'apéro….. par la suite nous avons commandé des filets mignon & nous avons été très déçu car c'était des bouts de filet très mince & trop cuit…. Nous avons déjà mangé chez vous & ce à plusieurs reprises entre 2014 & 2021 mais aujourd'hui c'est notre dernière visite, & je ne dois pas être le seul car nous avons remarqué qu'il n'y avait que quelques tables, très désolant pour un si beau restaurant…

Vraiment trop chère pour la qualité de la nourriture. J'ai demandé une brochette de filet mignon saignante, malheureusement je l'ai reçu très dure pas tendre dutout. Un riz blanc très salé avec du brocoli pas cuit, des oignons avec leurs pelures...

C'était notre première fois (2 personnes) que nous allions manger au Charbon, un peu gênant à mentionner, comme nous sommes résidents de la belle ville de Québec. Dû à la belle température, on nous a proposé le repas sur la terrasse avec possibilité d'entrer à l'intérieur si la température changeait, un samedi soir de juin à 19:00h !!!!. Nous avons mangé sur la terrasse même si j'avais déjà effectué une réservation la veille dans le resto. Excellent service. Le service, l'ambiance ainsi que le repas étaient vraiment excellents. Que dire de la viande, simplement wow!!! Nous avons mangé une entrée à deux de fondue parmesan, un filet mignon & un Boston. Une bière & une coupe de vin pour le souper. Pour terminer la digestion, un allongé & un café latté, le tout pour 85$ chacun incluant taxes. Je recommande cet endroit pour un bon repas. On se dit à bientôt !!!!

The potatoes could've been more flavourful, but the filet mignon was to die for & perfectly cooked. The horseradish was phenomenal, but they could lose the frozen veggies as a side, seems too cheap for the venue. The steak etiquette wasn't quite there; one of our filet minions was served too hot, & obviously not rested long enough, BUT was still full of flavour. The biggest negative would be the scotch etiquette. They filled my Johnny Walker Black Label with scooped ice. (Expensive Scotch should only have 2 medium sized cubes, usually) Otherwise, the atmosphere was warm, pleasant, fancy & classy. The servers were very polite & helpful, but could be quicker to check the tables. That could be just a result of low staffing issues, though.
