Had a fantastic evening at Chez Boulay. We don't eat out often at high-end restaurants & we have had experiences of feeling some prejudice towards us due to being younger (& anglophone tourists). At first we still kind of felt like this, especially by the host, but our waiter warmed up to us & gave us a very detailed & thoughtful description of the menu & his recommendations. I think its really important that higher end dining don't discriminate against customers who don't come in looking wealthy since it can be a blocker for some in choosing restaurants & we had a good experience with our server. In addition to this, the food really was exceptional. When the food is served in smaller portions, the flavours need to deliver & they did. To start we ordered the tomatoes, & then I had the steak & my girlfriend had the haddock. All dishes were presented well & had the richness of flavours you expect, even down to the roasted vegetables served with the steak, & the marinated tomatoes in the starting dish. For those nervous about dining at higher-end restaurants, this one is certainly worthwhile & we would gladly return.

Had the wonderful Sunday brunch. We were guests at the Hotel Manoir Victoria & this delightful bistro was quite convenient. The service was terrific & the food was plentiful & delicious. It seems to be a very popular dinner spot as well.

Nous étions pour un brunch le samedi 13 juillet. Nous étions 8 adultes. Nos choix de repas était délicieux & abondants. Le service est impeccable. Nous avons apprécié l'ambiance de ce restaurant. C'est un endroit à découvrit.

Food was good but not what was expected based on all the reviews. They were out of all specials at our 8:30 pm reservation which was made a month in advance. The restaurant is large with lots of tables - not on the positive side. Ambiance lacking. Our female server was always antsy & hurried. She never slowed down to speak to us about anything & basically just acted as an order taker. If we hesitated at all with our ordering (cocktails, etc.) she would run off. The terrine de foie gras app was the only exceptional thing about our visit. The main courses were good, not great ( beef cheeks, chicken, flat iron.) We opted out of desserts due to lackluster food & service. We had much better experiences overall at other establishments during our week in QC.

Great French restaurant in middle of QC Old Town. Their foods were delicious, perfectly seasoned. The Onion soup was amazing, the bison tartare & bison steak was a delight. I had to take one star off though because both Pan Fried Foie Gra & Halibut were slightly overcooked.

Excellent food, service & vibes. The pâté was delicious & the bison steak phenomenal. A must place in Quebec.
