Chika Ramen Izakaya focuses on the precise art of Japanese noodle craftsmanship and traditional small plate culture. The kitchen prepares authentic tonkotsu and shoyu ramen broths, utilizing long-simmered ingredients to achieve a deep, complex flavor profile. Diners encounter a wide selection of izakaya-style appetizers, including crispy gyoza, savory yakitori skewers, and fresh market-inspired seasonal offerings. The interior design emphasizes a casual, high-energy atmosphere that prioritizes communal seating and focused interaction with the culinary workspace. Noodle textures remain consistent with traditional standards, offering firm, springy bites that pair effectively with aromatic oils and house-made toppings. The beverage program complements the salty, umami-rich profile of the ramen bowls with a variety of cold Japanese beers and distilled spirits. This establishment serves as a dedicated destination for those seeking traditional Japanese comfort food.
Chika Ramen Izakaya is widely celebrated as a go-to destination in Quebec City for those seeking authentic and flavorful ramen, with many guests praising the rich, well-balanced broths and generous portion sizes. The restaurant is frequently lauded for its inviting and cozy atmosphere, often described as a perfect spot for friends and family to enjoy a variety of delicious Japanese tapas, such as gyoza, karaage, and takoyaki. With competitive pricing that offers excellent value, the restaurant remains a highly recommended choice for a satisfying and reasonably priced meal in a vibrant setting.
Well balanced ramen bowl, for the price I think it is very much worth it! They dont cheap out on the meat portions & they have a lot of variety, would recommend!
Was described to me as the place to get ramen in Quebec city, & did not disappoint.
Great atmosphere, quiet atmosphere with smooth jazz playing lightly in the background. Suitable for pleasant conversation with no struggling to hear. Staff were not overbearing & met all expectations.
The Tonkotsu soup was amazing & highly recommended. Also pictured are the vegetarian Tofu Ramen, & Gyoza (dumplings). Unpictured we also tried the Kagaare chicken & Yakitori chicken. All very good.
A very pleasant experience & very reasonably priced as well. Under $20 for a main course is comparable price to fast-food places. So no hesitation saying that this is 5 stars for the price bracket.

The Awesome: Seated immediately, close to Le Concord hotel, tasty, filling & very fair priced. I would definitely go back. The not so awesome: If it matters to you, there did not seem to be any Japanese workers in the front or back of house. Karage was good & plentiful, but lacked skin. The butabara was huge (great value, but not really bite sized pieces). Rice is a complement to all the other dishes served in an Izakaya. It should, therefore, be brought out with the first round of dishes. On two occassions, I had to get up to request service from our server, who was busy playing with her phone. That should never happen! &, that was the only reason I felt a star should be deducted.
Been wanting to go here for a while. The atmosphere was good at first. Everything was clean, tidy & gives off the ramen atmosphere you'd expect. The only thing I was disappointed was the smell in the bathroom. I felt that it had not been cleaned for hours.
The service speed was alright. We did not have to wait that long to be served. The food came in not that long after we ordered. The beef skewers (i forgot what this was actually called) was super good & flavorful.
The ramen though was really lacking freshness. The flavor was good but it doesn't really stand out for me. The chicken was a bit tough & bland as well.
Price to service/food quality I think for me was not worth it. Might go back again for their appetizers but not really for the ramen.
I ordered two Tonkatsu ramen & one seafood ramen through Uber. The app clearly said I would receive free Dragon Eyes rolls, but they were missing from my order.
On top of that, the Tonkatsu ramen was missing the eggs.
I called the restaurant to ask about it, & the person who answered literally said'I don't know.' That response is completely unacceptable & extremely irresponsible. How can a restaurant not know what they send out to customers?
This was a frustrating & disappointing experience from start to finish. I paid full price & did not receive what I ordered or what was promised, strongly recommend avoiding this restaurant.
Nice ramen spot. Good atmosphere & service to match. We had an assortment of dishes & enjoyed them all. The prices are also very competitive for the quality of food, service, & atmosphere in QC. I would highly reccomend to anyone wanting a nice dinner at a very reasonable price point.
Fantastic Japanese restaurant with an energizing ambiance. I say Japanese restaurant because between the ramen, tapas, & the sushi, it is a lot more than just a ramen place. The ramen is excellent with a mix of traditional flavours & more French inspired ones on offer. Tapas are well priced. I've never seen such big bore sushi rolls in my life. If you like your Japanese food & are in Québec, this place is a must try.
