About

Érablière du Cap offers a quintessential maple-centric culinary experience centered on traditional sugar shack heritage. Visitors encounter a menu defined by authentic Quebecois staples including pea soup, thick-cut smoked ham, and golden crepes drizzled with fresh maple syrup. The culinary approach emphasizes rustic preparation methods that honor seasonal harvesting traditions within a warm, wood-paneled communal setting. Hearty meat pies and crispy pork rinds serve as signature elements alongside the iconic maple taffy poured directly onto pristine snow. Every dish reflects deep-rooted regional customs, ensuring a focus on locally sourced ingredients prepared with straightforward, time-honored techniques. The environment prioritizes a functional atmosphere where the emphasis remains entirely on the quality of maple products and the robust, savory profiles characteristic of this specific regional food tradition.

Review Summary

Érablière du Cap offers a generally well-regarded traditional sugar shack experience that many visitors describe as a festive and welcoming family-oriented destination. Guests frequently praise the generous, all-you-can-eat meals, the educational guided tours, and the variety of activities such as the petting zoo, sleigh rides, and maple taffy on snow. While the vast majority of feedback highlights the warm hospitality, efficient service, and clean facilities, some visitors noted inconsistencies regarding the intensity of the music, the pace of the meal service, and specific policies on leftover food or gift shop product labeling. Despite these occasional critiques, the establishment is widely recommended for its authentic atmosphere, passionate staff, and value as a cultural experience for families and tourists alike.

Had lunch here as part of a bus tour group in June. Enjoyed the video shown before the meal about the farm & process. Overall the meal was not my style but I would rate the maple ham & crepe as my favorite dishes.

Beware that not all maple products in the gift shop is from the farm. I bought the maple leaf shaped lollipop that was on display at the cash register & upon careful inspection after purchase, it was actually produced by a company called Heart Industries based in Markham, ON.

I also bought one of the small glass bottles of maple syrup (50ml) & was disappointed to find that it did leak a little bit when I got home. The cap was a little loose & there was no seal or small piece of paper under the cap to prevent such leaks. Tiny detail that would have made a big difference.

Awesome experience. Went for the all you can eat maple syrup on ice/snow experience. $10 for a couple. Was worth the visit.
Make sure you are there for the 2pm experience as it is the only time they do it.

Very pleasant place to visit & try various maple products: besides introducing the production process & the history behind, there is also available menu to try different local food prepared with maple syrup (vegetarian menu is available too!), a small farm with animals & of course the shop to buy souvenirs & products for home. On top of that very friendly & helpful owners. Highly recommended! :)

Amazing must-do experience with formative explanation & maple syrup tastings. About 40 Min total tour & worth the pay. Christine was very prepared & her English was great. We also bought some original syrup directly from their gift shop due to the high quality.
