About

La Molette crafts an extensive selection of artisanal breads and traditional pastries within a setting defined by minimalist aesthetics and functional design. Flour sourced from local millers serves as the foundation for crusty sourdough loaves and laminated buttery croissants. Precision in temperature control ensures consistent texture across the entire range of baked goods, while the preparation of each batch follows strict fermentation protocols. The menu focuses on the interaction between high-quality wheat, butter, and seasonal inclusions, prioritizing clarity of flavor over complex ornamentation. Customers encounter a display case containing rows of individual pastries, balanced by the presence of specialty coffee equipment calibrated for exacting extraction standards. This environment facilitates a direct focus on technical skill and ingredient integrity, grounding the establishment in the rigorous discipline of professional baking and café culture.

La Molette is widely celebrated as a cozy and authentic destination that charms visitors with its high-quality Latin American and French-inspired menu. Guests frequently praise the exceptional pastries, including the almond chocolate croissants and various sweet breads, alongside savory staples like the eggs Benedict, chilaquiles, and flavorful tacos. The atmosphere is often described as warm, relaxing, and aesthetically pleasing, frequently enhanced by live music and a welcoming, professional staff. Stopped by for a quick iced matcha latte & churros. The matcha latte could use some work, but this seems to be more of a coffee city so not too disappointed. The churros were awesome. Crisp exterior with the chewy doughy interior. Comes covered in sugar & also got some dulce de leche to dip them in.

Our family of four had an excellent meal at La Molette. The food is creative, beautifully presented, made with high quality ingredients, & with lots of heart & skill! The scallop dish (& the unique bread that accompanies it) were particular favorites, along with the tortilla espanola & the berry cheesecake (!!!). Our waitress, Natalia, was kind & attentive. At the end of our dinner, we got talking with her & learned more about restaurant, including that they are especially famous as a bakery. On our last morning in Quebec City, we returned to stock up on pastries & breads to take on the next leg of our trip. Despite buying quite a wide selection, barely any lasted past that morning! We understand the hype. On our return trip, we also heard more about all the different countries that the owners, chefs, & staff originally hail from - a great way to recognize Quebec City as an international community. These distinct backgrounds influence the food & vibe in great ways!
