All the dishes are great~taste & presentation except desserts!
I was expecting more from a one star restaurant. The desserts is definitely on the simple side. Service was impeccable. The waitress has a sincere smile throughout the dinner.

This was the reservation I really looked forward to in Quebec City! A friendly welcome greeted us for our brunch & we were seated in a quiet area. The brunch consisted of three courses--warm, cold, & dessert, as explained by our very welcoming host. The special Pommosa was tasty, though, the first was warm & not fizzy; the second was cold & had fizz to it. Inconsistency is always a telling point for me. The cold course came & the server brought the warm course soon after & before we'd finished the first course. It meant we had a table of small dishes & the warm dishes were cold before we could start them. The timing of the service is always one of the most important parts of a good meal. When mentioned to the host that everything came in a hurry, we were told it was meant to give us the opportunity to enjoy the full experience together. Of course, no other diners had this experience. Were they rushing us out of their half-full dining area or just lax on the fine details? I think it's the latter. Overall, the food was just meh. When the scone & pear jelly are the best part of the meal, I'd say it's underwhelming, though the scone was pretty tasty & not dry like most scones. Dishes were not fully explained. Felt rushed. Starch heavy. This restaurant didn't reach my expectations, it didn't land on the top of my list as I expected it would. Honestly, I wasn't really impressed with any meal in Quebec City. Still, I was happy to visit from the US to support Canada, the economy, & its people.

Service was great. Atmosphere was a little different, with a lot of stuffed, taxidermied animals, & the dining room is up a flight of stairs in an old building, but it's been renovated nicely, with comfortable chairs & tables spaced well apart. You could hear your dinner companion & everything felt private. But the food! The food was totally delicious. I ordered a salad to start & then the scallops, a la carte rather than the degustation menu, because I wanted something lighter. I had a light dessert as well. The menu emphasizes meat, but there are other options too. The amuse-bouches they brought were tasty & unpretentious, but still plenty of effort to make. The thing that impressed me most was that everything I ordered was cooked & seasoned to perfection, & presented at that perfect state. Flawless food. I couldn't any little bit that wasn't excellent. The vegetables practically sang their freshness, the scallops were exemplary, & the dessert was like eating a sweet little cloud. All of this on a Monday night! These folks have earned their Michelin star, without question.

Booked for Sunday brunch.
Very professional & friendly hostess. Actively checking on all tables.
Professional staff as well.
It was a prefix brunch consists of 3 steps, starting with cold dishes, then warm & hot, then to the sweets & desserts.
Very reasonably priced.
Additional Wine & Liquor selections are very exclusive also (pricey but quality stuff).
I believe you get the best Michelin experience for dinner too. So, next visit! 😀

Our first visit to Le Clan & Quebec City. We enjoyed the attentive service & meal very much. We ordered a la cart with a starter, main & dessert. For the price of the main, the steak / beef dish could be more filling. It was a very small portion. Other than that, no other feedback.

We came here for Sunday brunch & the first course was one of the best we've ever had. 1 bite into the scone & I understood how delicious my meal was going to be. The 2nd course was delicious also but slightly underwhelming compared to the first, however the more I ate it the more it grew on me. We also loved the desserts!

I'll definitely come back the next time I visit Quebec.

1 course 9/10. 2 course 8/10. 3 course 8.5/10
