About

The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. But beware, behind that familiar face, between the stones of this old house lurk ghosts that give The Hobbit that "je ne sais quoi" and make it a place apart from all others.

Horrible expérience!
Nous allons régulièrement dans les bons restaurants. Le restaurant Hobbit nous avait été recommandé... Nous sommes donc allés jeudi le 21 mars. Nous sommes arrivés à 19 heures. Nous avons reçu notre plat principal à
21 h 30...

Wow. Reserved a spot online for a 7:30pm spot. I was glad I did as the room was quite full & the noise level was energetic. We were seated next to the front window, which was a very nice spot. I had the calamari & it was very tasty. For the main dish, we both had different cuts of beef with a couple glasses of the Bordeaux. They were cooked very well & extremely well flavoured. For dessert we two items that were absolutely mouth watering. One had chocolate & vanilla infused pears, while the other had a lemon theme. They were not heavy nor overly sweet, but a very nice finish to an excellent meal. Well done le Hobbit!

Wonderful service, warm ambiance, & delicious, creative food. We enjoyed the salmon tartare, Quebecois halibut, & canard Wellington. Our only regret was that we didnt have room for dessert!

I had been to Le Hobbit on previous occasions & will go again. My visitors to Quebec City shared my view that it has terrific ambiance, top notch service (my visitors appreciated that the servers are bilingual) in addition to delicious food & desserts.

We had a wonderful dinner at ale Hobbit. We both had their special 3 course menu. We were both amazed at the flavor combinations of the sauces, cheeses & mushrooms. They combined wonderfully & the mushrooms were cooked perfect. The scalllops were firm but tender with great accompaniments. The dessert was another masterpiece of combining different cheeses & sauces for perfect combination.
