About

The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. But beware, behind that familiar face, between the stones of this old house lurk ghosts that give The Hobbit that "je ne sais quoi" and make it a place apart from all others.

I came across this as a recommended restaurant on the Michelin guide & it definitely is deserving of the recommendation.

Its a beautiful restaurant on the inside & the food is fantastic. We went for brunch & it is definitely one of the best brunch that Ive had.

We had the Chicken & Waffles & the Croc Monsieur & both were great.

We also came with our three month old & everyone was very nice & accommodating. There is parking in a lot around the corner just across the street which is convenient as well.

Overall Id highly recommend & Id happily go back & order the same dishes again.

Excellent Quebecois cuisine with excellent value. Lots of classic dishes, but with inventive & well-executed riffs, using quality local ingredients. Their blood pudding apparently won awards, & I can see why - it was divine & I highly recommend it. Its name is makes it sound strange & intimidating but it truly is approachable for a general audience. The gravlax was another highlight, as well as the truffle mayo potato side dish. You cannot fault Le Hobbit on anything, they are genuinely & humbly a wonderful place to dine.

Our first dinner in Quebec City was at Le Hobbit. Both the duck & trout entrees were exquisite. We enjoyed our dinner so much that 3 days later we were back! The pork & Cornish hen plates were equally delicious. Waitstaff were wonderful & professional. I highly recommend Le Hobbit for a wonderful dinner!!

Le Hobbit is our new favorite spot in Quebec City. The food is excellently crafted with high quality ingredients. The menu is unique. The staff were all lovely. The atmosphere is cute. This is a perfect french style eatery that is not too abstract in form. It's just the right amount of elevated, while remaining practical as an eatery. I am so delighted have dined for their Easter dinner & then also for one of their fantastic breakfasts. I highly recommend Le Hobbit. Thank you so much. I cannot wait to come back.

Cute spot with really good service & really cute vibes. Like the name suggests, the ambiance is quite hobbit feeling. Cozy, comfortable & inviting.

The eggs benedict is a little odd - unique for sure, but not my cup of tea. A bit too different for my personal liking.

The chicken & waffles however were fantastic, & highly recommended.

The deviled eggs looked delicious, would definitely try those the next time I'm in town.

Lattes can use some work, but definitely one of the better lattes I've had at a brunch spot that isn't a dedicated cafe. Taste was good but latte art & milk texture needed some work.

Overall a great spot for brunch.

My partner & I found this restaurant while on a walk & I'm so glad we did! We stopped in on a Monday afternoon & they were serving their brunch & lunch menus. It was relatively quiet with a few tables filled with folks on business lunches or casual hang outs.

We sat down right away & I asked if they had iced tea, to which our incredible server replied,'no, but I can make one!' & then proceeded to make the most delicious & refreshing beverage! Everything we had was absolutely fantastic & it ended up being one of our favorite meals in the city. The Çilbir had the most fresh & delicious garlic yogurt with chickpeas roasted to perfection. The poached eggs & yogurt made it easy to scoop up the chickpeas for a full & delicious bite. I'll be dreaming about this for a long time. Somehow this was only $13 CAD as well!

The tartiflette was also amazing. I wanted to drink the sauce right out of the bowl. The bacon was thick & flavorful. The homemade focaccia was…perfect. Loved the butter.

The deviled eggs were so incredibly tasty. The fried chicken skin on top was the perfect addition for texture & well-seasoned.

HIGHLY recommend coming here. We can't wait to come back!
