The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. Excellent food & wait staff were great. Highly recommend this restaurant as the evening was really good for us. Only slight downside was a large 2family reservation with young kids who were there when we arrived. They made entire restaurant very loud. But finished soon after we arrived so it was much whiter once they gone.

Excellent dinner. Service was superb, very professional & friendly. We were a party of four, & every one of us came away extremely satisfied. It's busy, so I would recommend making reservations ahead of time. BTW, they don't take Amex, just so you know. This is a wonderful restaurant! I highly recommend it.

The best meal we had while visiting Quebec. The fresh soup was amazing. I had the Vegetarian Wellington & my husband had the Guinea Fowl. Both dishes exceeded our expectations. Dessert were outstanding. We had a reservation, highly recommends having. The restaurant is very quaint. .

Wonderful experience. Our server - Sebastian - was knowledgeable, friendly & humorous. The food was excellent, special call out to the dessert. We had the tiramisu. Highly recommended.

After a week of eating in Quebec city's most wonderful eateries,I had the opportunity to dine at Le Hobbit. I am so glad i didn't miss this restaurant. The staff is friendly & accommodating. They were patient as I butchered my way through ordering in French. The waitress smiled & was encouraging. The menu selections were creative & enticing. We ordered beef cheek gnochi & duck breast with foie gras. Both were beautiful to look at & even more wonderful to eat. Everything was perfect. I highly recommend Le Hobbit!

Very nice dinner for myself & colleagues. Wait staff was attentive & gracious & made spot on recommendations of wine & dessert. Would highly recommendation to any visitors from US or CAN!

Really enjoyed our visit to the Hobbit. both ordered the lamb shank & it was delicious. Would highly recommend. Very good atmosphere & service.
