About

The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. But beware, behind that familiar face, between the stones of this old house lurk ghosts that give The Hobbit that "je ne sais quoi" and make it a place apart from all others.

The Hobbit was wonderfu. Our family agreed that the Arctic char & rabbit confit were perfect & the sauces complemented the courses. David was entertaining & attentive to detail - master at bringing glasses of ice on a particularly warm evening. We'll return next time we visit Québec!

Not bad, but not spectacular. We had higher expectations for Le Hobbit. Staff says everything is local sourced & they push that. That's good. Charcuterie & cheese plate was very good. The lamb & the rabbit were fine, but we can't say "very good," & the portions were too small given the amount of bones. Our chosen wine was out, which was unfortunate, without a comparably priced replacement available. They may have been a bit understaffed on Monday. Overall, we have to give it 2 stars, which is what average is.
