About

The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. But beware, behind that familiar face, between the stones of this old house lurk ghosts that give The Hobbit that "je ne sais quoi" and make it a place apart from all others.

Good but the service by two different waiters was confusing & lacked integration. Food OK. Wine service 5/5. Let's uou try wine before ordering even for wine by the glass.

Bonne adresse, plat élégamment présenté, serveurs aux petits soins. En revanche, au moment de payer l'addition, je trouve moyen de demander si nous avons pensé a laisser un pourboir lorsqu'il est déjà présent.

Great food & service. Risotto was amazing, dessert was excellent & the waiter was really helpful in choosing a local beer. I would definitely go back.

The food was good. The service was not. I would guess that the skill & panache & charm with which our server handled more tables than is humanly possible indicates that understaffing is the norm at Le Hobbit. But this does not make for a good experience. The timing-of drinks, of food, of water, of payment-everything was just sub-par.

We were a group of four that shared two appetizers & had four main dishes. The appetizers were a little overcooked, the main dishes were great. There was a lot of waiting time. The appetizers took a long time to arrive, once we finished it was over 40 minutes to receive our main dishes. The waiter mostly ignored us while we were waiting for our food to arrive. Between courses the waiter mostly ignored us; he didn't even try to give an excuse for the delay, very frustrating. It wouldn't have been so frustrating if he had at least spoken with us about the delay. I thought that with such a late reservation the kitchen staff would have wanted to feed us & get out of there. No excuse until the end when he was unhappy with his tip, when he said there was a delay in the kitchen. He should have spent some time with us rather than drinking & chatting with his co-workers.

Toujours un plaisir d'aller dans ce restaurant. Les serveurs sont sympathiques & chanteurs en plus. En plus d'un menu excellent & une carte des vins en importation privé excellente.

Merci à toute l'équipe
