The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Je suis difficile à décevoir lorsque je vais au restaurant, j'aime généralement chacune de mes expériences, mais Le Hobbit relève définitivement la barre! Service plus qu'excellent & plats agréables tant à manger qu'à regarder.

This is a lovely place, very comfortable for solo travelers. I had both breakfast & dinner there & both were unusual, pretty, fresh, relatively healthy & delicious. Very friendly & attentive waitstaff.

Fabulous food & experience! I had seared Icelandic cod with (yes!) fried mussels, & it was really, really good. The wait staff were upbeat & appropriately attentive. No sense of pretension here - just terrific food in an honest environment. We began our meal with a shared beet salad, delicious, & ended with a creme brûlée that had Kahlua & Old Bailey's in it - yum. If I return to Quebec, I'd have all meals outside of the old city wall; Le Hobbit was mostly filled with locals who knew a good place to dine.
