The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Great place! The food was delicious & the service exceptional: it was my kid' s birthday & they made it special. We were a party of 9 & the food came on time & the waiter was always asking is everything went fine. I loved it & my family too!

Excellent breakfast. The staff was attentive & pleasant. We were there with friends from the USA. They said the meal was not greasy as it is the case in their home country. A place to go back for sure.

Nous recommandons vivement ce trésor de petit resto!
Lors de notre visite de 2 jours à Quebec pour voir les grands voiliers, nous avons vécu un moment mémorable pour un banal mercredi de semaine, mais qui était pour nous, moi & mon mari, un 37e anniversaire de mariage.
Le repas était excellent: joue de boeuf & pieuvre fumée en entrées, tartare de saumon & côtelettes d'agneau comme plats principaux. Tout était succulent & tendre à souhait! De plus, le serveur nous a merveilleusement bien conseillé pour le vin 🍷!
Bravo à tous les Intervenants qui ont fait un succès de cette belle soirée & merci encore pour toutes vos belles attentions!

Très bonne nourriture, beau décor, mais service très tiède, voire mauvais.
Nous avons été déjeuner avec des clients & tous étions d'accord pour dire que le service était à désirer tant la bonne humeur souhaité de la serveuse que la disponibilité de celle-ci.
Toutefois, l'espace de travail, les assiettes & le lieu étaient fort satisfaisant.
Nous doutons y retourner que ce soit personnellement ou professionnellement.

We didnt order appetizers because we quickly noticed that the entres were a good size. My son had the burger & enjoyed it right down to the fresh cut fries. My husband loved his lamb & wanted to order more bread to soak up the last of the crab sauce. My halibut was perfectly cooked & the crustacean oil added a tasty flavoring. The plate was light on carbs with lots of vegetables another plus in my mind but the sauce on top of the halibut & the sauce on the asparagus were unnecessary competition for the delicate fish flavor. It was a disappointing combination. The chocolate pie dessert was excellent as was the creme brulee.

The food was delicious.but the service was so so. Waiter spilled water & didn't wipe it just said sorry & left. Same happened when the waiter brought beer. We were waiting for appetizers for 40 mins. I would recommend to bring at least bread when people waiting more than 15 mins. & we had to ask for bread. Later they would change the bread but not butter:-) all of us were pretty happy with food so that's why we left 15% tip, not 20%. Just a recommendation: please make sure next time that party of 5 won't be a newspaper author:-) I believe this is an upscale restaurant! Thank you!

Great atmosphere. Outstanding food & crazy fun very helpful waiters. Reasonably priced. The French onion soup is it's own meal. Plan to go back.
