The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. Mis à part les cafés, déjeuner très décevant.
Assiette le classique: jambon gras, oeufs brouillés cuits dans l'huile, 2 petites pommes de terre, pain grillé qui déborde de beurre…
OEufs bénédictines: 22$ pour deux petits muffins anglais trop grillés avec aucun accompagnement.

La nourriture était excellente, le boudin au déjeuner était extrêmement bon. C'est une des meilleurs place que j'ai mangé so far.

Par contre, j'aurais apprécié un service d'accueil un peu plus attentionné.

Pendant nos vacances à Québec, nous sommes allés au restaurant sans réservation vers 10 h 45. Nous avions oublié de réserver. Le serveur nous a demandé de revenir vers 11 h 45.
Normalement, les serveurs prennent toutes les coordonnées afin de réserver une table à notre nom, mais cela n'a pas été fait. De plus, on nous a avertis que c'était de notre faute.

Finalement, nous avons fait une réservation en ligne pour être servis vers 12 h 30. L'eau n'a été servie qu'après 20 minutes, une fois assis. Il est certain qu'après un tel service, l'expérience reste mitigée. Travaillant nous-mêmes dans la restauration, nous comprenons toutefois la réalité du métier.

My husband & I ended up eating breakfast here twice on our recent trip because it was THAT good! Can recommend the sea urchin scrambled eggs & the ratatouille with poached egg, as well as the chicken & waffles. Excellent place with lovely service & great food.

The trout tasted like lake water & my girlfriend's duck was chewy & didn't have much taste. We had finished appetizer plates sitting on our table for over 30 minutes.

For a Michelin caliber restaurant, we were not impressed at all. Would not recommend for dinner.

We loved Le Hobbit! I had the Cornish hen & my daughter had the lamb, very delicious! We shared an appetizer of scallops & dessert of chocolate orange carrot heaven! I would go again!

Our first dinner in Quebec City was at Le Hobbit. Both the duck & trout entrees were exquisite. We enjoyed our dinner so much that 3 days later we were back! The pork & Cornish hen plates were equally delicious. Waitstaff were wonderful & professional. I highly recommend Le Hobbit for a wonderful dinner!!
