About

The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. But beware, behind that familiar face, between the stones of this old house lurk ghosts that give The Hobbit that "je ne sais quoi" and make it a place apart from all others.

Recommended by the Michelin Guide & the locals, this restaurant truly lives up to its hype. Their brunch signature dishes were delightful & flavorful. The sea urchin scrambled eggs was rich & complex. The blood pudding was smooth & creamy. The staff was incredibly friendly. Valerie, in particular, was dynamic & cheerful, which made our meal all the more memorable.

Everything was superb 👌 I had the vegetarian'lobster roll' made with mushrooms, & my hubby had halibut. Both delicious! But be aware that there is no air conditioning, the day we were there so I would recommend comfortable attire.

We went there for dinner. It was fantastic, some of the best food I've experienced.

Started with the beef tartare, 10/10 would recommend. Then we followed up with the tomahawk pork on brussel sprout salad & homemade pasta both 10/10. & to finish we tried the Before 10 chocolate macaroon with mint chocolate chip ice-cream sandwich & pana cotta/elderberry dessert both worth having.

100% would go back. Only thing I wish they had was a few more cocktails to choose from. But overall a must try spot in Quebec City!
