The great story of a small bistro... Like a treasure buried in the heart of Faubourg St-Jean, a really well-kept secret ... the story of The Hobbit. This small, unpretentious bistro, is a reflection of the character of Tolkien, it carries with it the greatness of a story whose echo is still heard today at the cafe. Over time, it became the place where culinary delights come together in an ambiance worthy of a warm and cozy home. This restaurant is so good; I've been to Quebec twice & Le Hobbit three times. Our waiter Max was friendly, accommodating, & just lovely. The food is always a 10/10. Get the chicken & waffles! & the Spanish potatoes. But the eggs Benedict was also a crowd favorite. We'll be back next time!

Very good service, we went for Valentine's Day. They had a special tasting menu for that day. Skipping the tasting menu, we order'a la carte'. We had 2 appetizers, Brie cheese with'tartinade de figues', which was very good, & the Duck Tartare. That second plate wasn't very good, it lacked flavor.
For the main course we ate Boudin (blood sausage) &'Encornet braisé', which is a mix of Calamari with Snails & foie gras. The boudin was good & the encornet was very flavorful. That last one was a taste I really can't compare to anything, but very good.
I recommend this place, the whole team is very knowledgeable about the dishes & the service is impeccable.

Une superbe place, on est venue pour le brunch le service & la cuisine sont impeccable & avec le sourire.

Si on veut dire quelque chose peu être un peu bruyant avec un espace entre les tables assez restreint.

Everything about this place is perfect. The warm welcome, attentive friendly service, best coffee, excellent food & great ambience are all so good!
We were visiting the area & ate breakfast here each day of our stay. The flavours of the eggs benedict & salmon gravlax were perfectly balanced. Do yourself a favour & try the deviled eggs too.
Thanks for an awesome breakfast experience & the best coffee in town, from some grateful Aussies.

Went here after a full day of travel when we were very tired & very hungry. They had some kind of party in the next room but waited 90 minutes before we got something, anything, to eat. Some of the food tasted good but for me, was a bit too fussy & a bit pretentious. Might be better for brunch. I thought the menu was kind of strange & could have offered more practical choices. Like how about a soup? It's 5 degrees outside, maybe something we can actually eat while we are waiting like this?
This was not a great experience.

Très bonne ambiance, service super sympa, bouffe éclectique avec de belles combinaison. Prix très abordable! La petite salle est excellent pour les groupes d'une vingtaine de personnes!
