Review Summary

Le Parlementaire offers a unique and highly recommended dining experience situated within the historic and elegant architecture of the parliament building. Visitors consistently praise the stunning, bright dining room and the high quality of the food, which features locally sourced ingredients and refined, artistic presentations. While most guests highlight the professional and welcoming service, the atmosphere, and excellent value for fine dining, some note occasional challenges regarding wait times at security, noise levels, or inconsistencies in service speed. Overall, the restaurant is widely considered a memorable and essential destination in Québec City, celebrated for its regional cuisine and distinct old world charm.

Just a wonderful Quebec experience! Delicious locally-sourced food & wonderful service. A bit more than we usually spend but SO worth it-- we had swordfish & lamb, & a raspberry dessert that was out of this world, with fresh local raspberries. Special compliments to our server Annette, who made our afternoon a delight. We will return!

Really disappointing experience, especially given that I visited the restaurant years ago & enjoyed it very much, so thought it would be a great place to take my guests on this trip. We had two entrées, the crusted cod & the tuna tataki - & both were terrible. The crusted cod wasn't crusted pieces of fish as expected, but rather a bland doughy mix of fish & bread that is subsequently deep-fried, & obviously made for the convenience of the kitchen rather than the enjoyment of the customer (although the waitress claimed it was very popular - sure, because no doubt others, like me, expected fish when they ordered it). The tuna tataki was equally disappointing, with just a few thin flavorless slices. Both dishes weren't garnished or seasoned in any way that might save them either. Our main dish, the duck breast, was easily the worst duck I have tried in any restaurant - & this after persuading my guests to try it, as duck in Quebec is often excellent. Not here - it appeared to be undercooked, & tasted like liver - truly terrible. On top of it all, the place, although elegant, was almost deserted, we were rushed a bit as'the kitchen was closing' half an hour after our reservation time slot &, when we told the waitress that the food was not good, her reaction was'eh bien = oh well,' so few points for service & atmosphere. My guess is that they have difficulty attracting or retaining capable chefs, or they just don't care. On the bright side, we enjoyed our drinks, & the dessert - but for the price paid (the tiny tuna tataki alone was $22), absolutely not worth it, & won't return anytime soon.

What a discovery!!! We've been trying many restaurants in Québec but this one is in the top5. & you get to visit the parlement ☺️ Food is amazing, & the atmosphere is also very impressive! The spring discovery menu is awesome & as a bonus, you get to try Patrice Demers's daily desserts

Bonjour!
