Founded in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become an iconic institution in Quebec City, embodying the influence of Quebec gastronomy. Offering haute French cuisine inspired by exceptional regional products, renowned chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his team combine traditional know-how and modern techniques to pay tribute to local producers and offer a gourmet, refined and unique gastronomic experience.

Le Saint-Amour is ranked among the top 10 favourite fine dining restaurants in Canada by travellers, according to TripAdvisor (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020 Travellers' Choice Awards). Our wine cellar , housing over 15,000 carefully selected bottles, is also among the top 10 wine selections in Canada, with prestigious vintages from all over the world. Over the years, we have had the honour of welcoming renowned celebrities, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour, and many others, who have chosen Le Saint-Amour during their stay in Quebec City.

Le Saint-Amour was awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Debeur Guide and was crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2011. This recognition is in addition to the many distinctions received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay : Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec in 2024, the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Quebec government, Maître Cuisinier de France, Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France medal, Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts of the Table, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Also recognized for his dedication to passing on his knowledge, Chef Boulay shares his passion with new generations, notably as a permanent judge on the show Les Chefs! , broadcast on Radio-Canada since 2010 and with 13 seasons to date.

Très bon service à l'accueil ! Belle table dans un merveilleux décor de jardin. Le service est à la hauteur de la réputation de ce restaurant. La nourriture est excellente. La carte des vins est très élaborée. Un choix de restaurant que l'on ne regrette pas !

From the moment we entered everything was perfect & we loved every minute. The service was impeccable, professional & friendly, the food descriptions very precise of very original interpretations of fine, exclusive terroir products. Every bite was a pure delight. The wine suggestions were excellent & paired perfectly with the food. The mood & the decor in the restaurant are classy & conducive to conversation. This is an outstanding restaurant & the price is totally justified for such a memorable experience. Don't forget to check out the extensive wine cellar. Best restaurant in Québec IMHO

Repas délicieux, beau décor, par contre le serveur pas tres agréable. A la limite pas tres courtois... Lors de notre prochaine reservation je préciserais pour être attablé dans la grande salle

Dining at Le Saint-Amour is an amazing experience. First, the ambience is "Paris Cafe," beautifully & tastefully decorated, with skylights & green plants everywhere. Second, the food is amazing. Our group of four selected a wide variety of dishes - from bison steak to halibut to squab -- & everything was perfect. Third (& by no means least), the staff is friendly & helpful. While the atmosphere is Parisian, the staff is most definitely Canadian. They made us feel at home, explained every dish & drink, & were extremely attentive. Highly recommend!

Bonjour,

Nous avons passé une très belle soirée dans un beau décor & nous avons savouré tous nos plats J'aimerais toutefois faire quelques remarques.

J'ai été déçue par l'acoustique: plus la salle se remplissait de clients, plus il devenait difficile de bien s'entendre à notre table de deux personnes.

De plus, nous avons dû attendre 10 à 15 minutes pour placer notre commande une fois avoir indiqué clairement que notre choix de plats était fait: notre premier serveur a servi plusieurs tables autour de nous sans nous indiquer qu'il était conscient que nous étions prêtes à commander. En fait, on se demandait ce qui se passait, s'il vous manquait des serveurs ou si un autre serveur allait prendre le relais.

Finalement, ce serveur s'adressait à ma mère en l'appelant "ma chère". Pas "ma chère dame", ce qui aurait passer un peu mieux (mais encore). Non, tout simplement "ma chère", ce qui s'approche du "ma petite madame" si condescendant, donc déplacé.

Pour un restaurant de votre classe, nous aurions apprécié un environnement, une attention & un ton à la hauteur de votre réputation.

Cela étant, je dois souligner que la serveuse qui a servi nos plats a fait preuve d'un service impeccable & que le chef nous a impressionnées par son attention en préparant des galettes au sarrasin en remplacement de pain à cause de mon intolérance au blé. Chapeau!

C'était notre 3e visite au Saint-Amour. Côté décor, c'est un petit paradis. Les plats sont bien présentés, un chef-d'oeuvre pour les yeux. Toutefois le goût est subtil, on pourrait facilement accepter que les saveurs soient plus développées.
Les serveurs sont courtois & efficaces; le sommelier pour sa part s'est présenté avec une pointe d'arrogance.
Je note également que le premier verre de vin de notre bouteille nous a été servi, quant aux suivants il a fallu s'en occuper nous-mêmes. Ce n'est pas une lourde tâche, mais cela nous a quand même surpris.
