Founded in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become an iconic institution in Quebec City, embodying the influence of Quebec gastronomy. Offering haute French cuisine inspired by exceptional regional products, renowned chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his team combine traditional know-how and modern techniques to pay tribute to local producers and offer a gourmet, refined and unique gastronomic experience.

Le Saint-Amour is ranked among the top 10 favourite fine dining restaurants in Canada by travellers, according to TripAdvisor (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020 Travellers' Choice Awards). Our wine cellar , housing over 15,000 carefully selected bottles, is also among the top 10 wine selections in Canada, with prestigious vintages from all over the world. Over the years, we have had the honour of welcoming renowned celebrities, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour, and many others, who have chosen Le Saint-Amour during their stay in Quebec City.

Le Saint-Amour was awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Debeur Guide and was crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2011. This recognition is in addition to the many distinctions received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay : Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec in 2024, the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Quebec government, Maître Cuisinier de France, Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France medal, Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts of the Table, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Also recognized for his dedication to passing on his knowledge, Chef Boulay shares his passion with new generations, notably as a permanent judge on the show Les Chefs! , broadcast on Radio-Canada since 2010 and with 13 seasons to date.

Would not go again. The foie gras was excellent. The main course fish was cooked well but it was tasteless. I wanted to go in the kitchen & correct the seasoning & up the flavor. Chocolate mousse was good. Service was terrible. We had at least 5 different people bring us food, drinks, taking orders & there was no continuity. Took forever to get first & second glass of wine. Had much better meals in lesser known & touted restaurants in Quebec.

Le service était impeccable. Les entrées de foie gras, accompagnées d'un verre de Sauternes, étaient excellentes. Par contre, le plat principal nous a un peu déçu. La pintade farcie était bonne, sans plus. Quant à l'agneau, il manquait un peu de cuisson & le goût de sauge était un peu trop prononcé. Donc le niveau de qualité était un peu inférieur à d'autres repas que nous avons déjà pris à ce restaurant.

Wonderful ambiance in my the main room, food was exceptional as well. We probably had our best dressed oyster in a very long time, even ordered two extra separate from the foie gras experience.

Service in the beginning was slow, the sommelier was serving our table & had multiple tables he was serving wine, so it took 30-40 minutes before we had our first drink, but afterwards service was on point. Other servers should be able to bring drinks to any table when the sommelier is occupied. The support staff & maitre d' we're wonderful otherwise & always had a smile.

We would come back for sure.

5 étoiles , rien de moins... de l'accueil à notre sortie, tout fût impeccable. L'endroit très chaleureux, le menu diversifié & la chaleur humaine des serveurs nous a bien plu. & que dire de la présentation de nos plats. Plus imaginatif les uns que les autres. Je n'ai jamais mangé une si bonne pontade, cuisson parfaite, rosée & ça fondait littéralement dans la bouche. Le foie gras, tout simplement divin. Une visite s'impose à ce restaurant si vous ne l'aviez pas encore fait. TotaLement satisfaite.

Première fois au Saint-Amour, mais pas la dernière! Nous sommes des fans de menu dégustations avec accords mets & vins & nous avons été enchanté. Le service est excellent & cordial. Mention spéciale au foie gras poêlé... absolument divin!

Institution appartenant au passé (has been). Technique culinaire impeccable. Accord des sauces avec plats discutable (foie gras/ris de veau/pithiviers de pigeon) ! Plat copieux cependant (pas de désert pour nous...mais ceux-ci avaient l'air très bon. Excellent accord vin & mets. Personnel quelque peu rapide! Musique à revoir! Éclairage des tables centrales de l'atrium auraient avantage à avoir au minimum une bougie. Menue présenté sur une feuille 8 1/2x11 = pas à la hauteur d'un resto côté 4 diamants (COVID). J'ai été gentil avec 3* due au passé que représente le St-Amours (brin de nostalgie). $$$$
