Founded in 1978 by Jacques Fortier and Jean-Luc Boulay, Le Saint-Amour has become an iconic institution in Quebec City, embodying the influence of Quebec gastronomy. Offering haute French cuisine inspired by exceptional regional products, renowned chef Jean-Luc Boulay and his team combine traditional know-how and modern techniques to pay tribute to local producers and offer a gourmet, refined and unique gastronomic experience.

Le Saint-Amour is ranked among the top 10 favourite fine dining restaurants in Canada by travellers, according to TripAdvisor (2014, 2015, 2016 and 2020 Travellers' Choice Awards). Our wine cellar , housing over 15,000 carefully selected bottles, is also among the top 10 wine selections in Canada, with prestigious vintages from all over the world. Over the years, we have had the honour of welcoming renowned celebrities, such as Sir Paul McCartney, Sting, Alicia Keys, Johnny Hallyday, Charles Aznavour, and many others, who have chosen Le Saint-Amour during their stay in Quebec City.

Le Saint-Amour was awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Debeur Guide and was crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2011. This recognition is in addition to the many distinctions received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay : Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec in 2024, the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Quebec government, Maître Cuisinier de France, Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France medal, Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts of the Table, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Also recognized for his dedication to passing on his knowledge, Chef Boulay shares his passion with new generations, notably as a permanent judge on the show Les Chefs! , broadcast on Radio-Canada since 2010 and with 13 seasons to date.

Our recent visit to Le Saint-Amour was an unparalleled experience that exceeded our every expectation. In celebration of my wife's birthday, we were seeking an unforgettable dining experience, & Le Saint-Amour delivered in spades.

Our family arrived late due to unforeseen confusion. The staff graciously accommodated us without hesitation, demonstrating an exceptional level of customer service from the outset. As we dined with our energetic two-year-old, we were initially concerned about potentially disrupting other guests. However, the staff's keen attentiveness quickly assuaged our worries as they offered to open a separate room for our comfort & enjoyment.

Their thoughtfulness extended to the culinary experience as well. Understanding our vegetarian preferences, they crafted a remarkable seven-course tasting menu that accommodated our dietary restrictions. Each dish showcased the kitchen's creativity, attention to detail, & commitment to using high-quality ingredients.

The wait staff were warm, helpful, & friendly, further elevating our experience. Having had the pleasure of dining at upscale restaurants worldwide, I can confidently say that Le Saint-Amour stands out as the best we've encountered. The exquisite food, attentive service, & genuine care for our comfort made our celebration truly unforgettable.

We had the tasting menu & were delighted. Genuinely intense flavors, well-presented food, attentive service for the most part, excellent advice by the sommelier! We could still recall the flavors of a number of the services offered the night before. This is what gourmet dining is all about.

My husband & I recently enjoyed a mini honeymoon in Quebec City (July 30-Aug 1) & were strongly encouraged to visit Le Saint-Amour for a special dinner. At the end of the night, we both looked at each other & said this was the best meal of our lives! We both ordered the Chef's 7-course tasting menu along with the wine pairings. Each meal & wine combination was simply divine. We even bought one of the wines to enjoy at our 1st anniversary next year & commemorate this dinner. Highly recommend this elegant establishment for any celebration.

A very nice time. The tasting menu was a fun evening, Service was five star with a minor bar glitch which was rectified immediately. It balanced out with their moving us to the elegant main dining room from the overflow room (still romantic). All in all a superb evening with a nice touch of birthday flourish on the dessert plate for my lady. Well done;

Outstanding tasting menu. Every dish had its own personality & creativity to make it stand out.book early as they are quite popular. A sommelier would be nice as the wine list is extensive. Attire recommendations should lean towards dress attire. Allowing shorts & open toed mens sandals should not be allowed. It will set it apart & give it the audience it deserves.

This beautiful space has an extraordinary menu & talented staff. Two of our four person party ordered the paired tasting menu & loved the dishes they received Lovage crusted veal followed an amazing scallop ceviche in a range of delicious dishes.
