Le Saint-Amour was awarded 4 stars by the prestigious Debeur Guide and was crowned Restaurant of the Year in 2011. This recognition is in addition to the many distinctions received by Chef Jean-Luc Boulay : Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec in 2024, the highest honorary distinction awarded by the Quebec government, Maître Cuisinier de France, Officier de l'Ordre du Mérite Agricole de France medal, Governor General of Canada's Award for the Arts of the Table, as well as the Prix Hommage Renaud-Cyr. Review Summary

Le Saint-Amour offers a celebrated culinary journey marked by exquisite traditional French cuisine, particularly noted for its exceptional foie gras and perfectly executed main courses. The dining environment, especially within the stunning glass roof atrium, creates a romantic and memorable atmosphere that many guests find to be a highlight of their time in Quebec City. While the vast majority of visitors enjoy impeccable and attentive service, experiences can occasionally vary depending on the busy nature of the evening. Overall, the restaurant remains a premier destination for those seeking a sophisticated gastronomic experience featuring creative, high-quality dishes and an impressive wine selection.

An experience to remember! My husband enjoyed the scallops as the main course, while I wanted to experience Chef Boulay's squab. Amazing! & if you enjoy fine wines, you will not be disappointed. Worthy of its Michelin recognition 👏

Cuisine excellente.

Renowned local institution for fantastic food in a dim, romantic setting. Very accommodating & versatile menu, attentive staff, & delicious food.

This is probably the greatest restaurant in the world. Amazing food, accommodating staff, memorable interior. If I could eat one thing for all 3 meals for the rest of my life it would be anything from this place. If you don't go here when in quebec it would be a huge missed opportunity for you. Even their takeout boxes with embossed lettering look like gifts. Go there!

Elegant bastion of haite cuisine. It was a near perfect experience. The squab with fois gras was a memorable creation.

An amazing place. The food is beyond belief, of course, but the experience is what truly sets Le Saint-Amour apart. This is a happy place, where everyone is happy to welcome you to this temple of high cuisine. & the value is great - during 7 days in Quebec we paid almost as much for far lesser food. Reserve with confidence - you will make lifetime memories.

We drove up to Quebec City for 4 days of vacation. We booked a hotel in the upper old city so we could easily walk to all the historic sites.
We researched this hotel from home so we made sure to eat there. We went a little early as we did not have a reservation. We were offered a table in the middle but my wife asked to move. After a short time, the waiter came & moved us to a side table which was much better.
We ordered a variety of dishes but the best was the baby lamb chops. I also had two glasses of a very nice French wine.
This restaurant is owned by celebrity chef Jean Luc Boulay. I highly recommend it if you want delicious food in a spectacular restaurant setting.

The food was excellent, the service was not. Upon entrance to the establishment, there was no one at the host stand & the bartender waved us to come in until someone came to the front. Not sure if it was because we were one of the youngest diners there or did not order wine, but our waiter was barely present at our table throughout our meal even though he was at other tables plenty. It was warm on the walk up to the restaurant & we poured our own water after the first glass & no one offered to refill it when our bottle was done. The other server who helped dropped off our food for appetizers & entrees did a good job of describing the dishes. The zucchini appetizer was beautifully plated & very innovative in terms of flavor & composition- I have never had an appetizer quite like it before. The lamb entree was delicious & the vegetables were also extremely fresh, pea purée was superb. I think we did not enjoy dessert as much because the lack of service at that point had built up & it took so long for our main waiter to check in & finally bring the dessert menus. After greatly enjoying the food & service at Chez Boulay the night before, we were really looking forward to this meal & learning more about the local cuisine & Nordic food so the experience was not what we expected. The most attentive our waiter was during the meal was when he hovered over my husband to point out the options for tipping.
