Légende offers an immersive fine dining experience centered on innovative boreal cuisine, where locally sourced ingredients are transformed into creative and beautifully presented tasting menus. Guests frequently praise the professional, attentive, and passionate service, noting that the staff often goes above and beyond to make celebrations feel special. The atmosphere is consistently described as cozy, elegant, and welcoming, making it a standout destination in Quebec City for those seeking a memorable culinary journey. While the majority of visitors leave feeling delighted by the complex flavors and thoughtfully curated wine and non-alcoholic pairings, a few have noted that the portion sizes or pacing can sometimes feel unconventional for a long-form tasting experience.
Honestly extremely average… My partner & I are foodies who have travelled around the world & across Canada, this was OK. We had the 6 course tasting menu, some of the dishes were very nice others were average at best. Comparing this restaurant to who they are positioning themselves against both in Canada, QC, & abroad, for the money they are charging the quality was just not there. Wine list is nice, service is good. Food & innovative menu was lacking. I would recommend they drop their prices & stop trying to compete at an elite level.
This is quite the dining experience! I'd recommend the tasting menu & wine pairing as the items are beautifully executed & very unique. Service was outstanding & everything was paced out perfectly. The only item we didn't enjoy as much as the raw oysters to start before the meal. They were fresh & delicious, but the mung bean topping just didn't work in our opinion. Otherwise, this is a must go for people wanting to experience something out of the ordinary.
Perhaps our palate was not accustomed to the ingredients of the 6 course tasting menu. For the $$$$$ price, this was disappointing to us. The portions were small, but getting all 6 courses, we left with appetites satiated. The bread & broth were good, as was the dessert; the rest of the courses, for the most part, had pleasant, savory flavors, but nothing stood out as excellent. The least favorite, which we ate little of, was the bison & a root vegetable. It tasted good, & appeared appropriately prepared, but both the bison & the root vegetable was tough & hard to chew. The staff was very attentive, & sincerely seemed interested in our enjoying our meal. It was very difficult to understand their English, with such a heavy French accent, for my Southern U.S. ears; even after several semesters of French in college. The food was artfully arranged . . . Great presentation, you might say. I would recommend this to adventurous souls that enjoy experimental cooking/flavors that have a lot of extra cash to spend.
One of the best tasting menus & wine pairings I've done! Everything is thoroughly thought out with lots of attention paid to detail. Service was too notch as well (shout out to Charlotte)
We went for the tasting menu. Everything they served was great & the wines paired very well. Service was attentive but not rushed. We had such a good meal, we went back 2 nights later for the a la carte. The dessert with cheese, malt & smoked ice cream was fantastic. It's sounded a little weird but it was delicious. The cheese was like a marshmallow texture & it all went together beautifully. If in Quebec again, it will definitely go back.
Food is underwhelming, we have the 6 course tasting menu, & the pasta dish was too salty, the beef wasn't tender way too chewy, dessert too heavy for all this food. I did enjoy the amuse bouche, & brocolini, & the wine selection. I was expecting better food for the price.
