I rarely give restaurants 5 star reviews, which to me means, "Worth a special trip," This is an outstanding special destination restaurant in the lower city of Vieux Quebec (Old Quebec,) Legende deserves these stars, This first-class restaurant uses local ingredients, & has a vegetarian menu as well as serving fish & meat. The wait staff does an excellent job of explaining options (in English in our case). The menu has smaller plates desinged for sharing. Our waiter recommended two per person, & four dishes proved filling with a variety of flavors & ingredients & not overwhelming, They iasked about food allergies. We had one dish featuring fish, another a corn & fennel soup with numerous other vegetables, & a mushroom pasta dish among others. Each course was excellent & distinctive. Without wine or dessert, we spent around C $100 before tax & tip, It was an outstanding meal. Far more expensive that a usual meal for us, but worth going out of the way to have. Suggestion: make reservations in advance, You can do this on line.

We were disappointed with our meal. The asparagus was decent, but the brussels sprouts were undercooked & very tough. The arctic char was fine but not great. The cavatelli had a strange aftertaste. The service was great, everyone was kind & friendly, wine recommendations were good as well. We left hungry though, & would not return.

Fantastic food, drinks, & service! Dinner at Legende was the perfect way to end our stay in Quebec. Legende is a must visit if you are in Quebec City. From the handcrafted cocktails (Francis our Bartender), the excellent service & wine selection advice (Allison our Waitress), to the best & most sophisticated Vegetarian Menu we have ever seen. Thanks for a wonderful evening & we will definitely come back if our travels bring us to Quebec.

This was my third visit to Légende & the food always fits the name as does the service. The servers immediately feel at home. The 6 course serving was more than enough food for one & while I skipped the wine pairing, the bartender made spectacular recommendations for cocktails that paired perfectly as well. The meal even included a complimentary latté with maple sugar to go with it. It was once again a memorable & wonderful meal & I look forward to returning!
