Our dinner was truly a memorable dining experience. The food was terrific - but let's face it, it's Quebec City & there are a number delicious places to eat. What makes Legende par la Taniere so different is the the menu & wine pairings are just so interesting & unexpected.

Terms like "locally sourced" & "farm to table" have become so cliche. But this restaurant makes these terms real. Like many typical Americans, I really had no experience with traditional local cuisine. What a pure pleasure it was to be introduced to it dish by dish.

We did the tasting menu, & it was fantastic. Unlike traditional French tasting menus, we couldn't predict what kind of dish was coming next. & the wines were similarly interesting from either non traditional regions or atypical grape varieties. & the wine pairings (a new wine for each course!) were spot on.

Finally, the waitstaff were both very friendly & professional. They rightfully took pride in their restaurant, the food & wines. Our waiter Chris took very good care of us & even remembered my wife's birthday with some extra sweets at the end of the meal.

We dine out a lot but have a short list of truly memorable dining experiences. Legende par la Taniere is on the list.

Came to celebrate my engagement & they were so amazing!

We tried the tasting menu & our taste buds were in heaven. We tried the wine pairing too. Every last drop was as good as the first sip.

We both enjoyed the tasting menu, splitting one of the deluxe wine pairings & adding an extra cheese course. Every dish was a wonderful mix of fresh flavours, particularly accenting acid & umami. The waitstaff answered all our questions about specific ingredients & the wines. A great experience overall.

The atmosphere was gorgeous. The server was extremely knowledgeable & friendly. All of his suggestions were spot on. The food was delicious. The reason I'm giving this place 3 stars is because my husband & I left there STARVING after spending well over $300 for the tasting menu for 2 people & the wine pairing for just myself. It is by far the most money we have ever spent on a dinner & the most hungry we have ever left a dinner. The portions are EXTREMELY tiny.

The food was fantastic, we all had the tasting menu with the restaurant accommodating for a vegan diner as part of our group. The dish of bao, brocolli & miso was a standout for all. The waiting staff were exceptional & attentive, including the sommelier who's wine pairings perfectly matched each course. Would happily recommend!
