Came here on holiday, got the Classic Poutine, Lobster Pogos, & the Wagyu Dumplings & Raspberry Sangria to drink. Food was excellent & staff were incredibly friendly & helpful (& spoke perfect English). Highly recommend to any fellow travellers or anyone in general!
My first visit to Shaker was so good that I ended up going back two days later. I ordered the Western Burger & fries on my first visit & was impressed; one of the best burgers I've eaten.
For my second visit I ordered the Pickleator with poutine & it was equally as good. I ordered the Wagyu Beef Fried Dumplings as an appetizer & was impressed; a nice crispy dumpling outside & flavourful beef on the inside. Food presentation was excellent both times.
Drink wise you MUST try the mixology mason jars. I had the Pink Lemonade on my first visit, Sugar Daddy's & Hibiscus for the second. All were delicious & refreshing.
Overall the food & its presentation were amazing. I want to give the staff a shout out as they were absolutely wonderful. Emrick served us on the second visit & was a lot of fun.
I highly recommend Shaker in Old Quebec if you're in the area. Fun atmosphere with great staff.

Got the $69 Saturday menu for two on April 25th 2026, 2 Entree tartares, tatakis or burgers, 1 of any appetizer (which range from around $15-23 normally), 1 dessert, & an extra $20 for a full bottle of $32 wine you can take home afterwords.
You get the largest size(or smaller if you prefer) tartares/tatakis; of which we got the beef steak tartare & the tuna tataki, both of which were excellent & came with garden salad & fries. The wagyu dumpling appetizer was great with a tangy plum(?) sauce, but it was a tough choice with all the great appetizers available. After all that we choose the chocolate/caramel cake which comes in a large jar & is perfect for taking home if you're already full, it was delicious aswell.
Overall SHAKER was %100 worth it, if anything it was a bit loud at times but was completely full & not loud enough that I couldn't hold a conversation. Server was bilingual & excellent with service/suggestions, maitre d was attentive to everyone in the restaurant & checking to make sure we were always doing well. Can't say a bad thing about this place, if you're looking for a good lower-price for the cuisine but excellent meal I would heavily reccomend.
We passed by Shakers after dinner for a few cocktails before heading home. The host was super welcoming & offered us a table even though we offered to sit at the bar. Our table was at the back near the bathrooms. It was, to be fair, a very busy Saturday night. Our first order was two Espresso Martinis & they were really good. However, it took some time for our waiter to come back & take our second drink order. When he finally did, we landed on two simple drinks: a dry martini & a godfather. Max three ingredients per drink.
Not complex, though even if they were, this spot is advertising specialty drinks. Our second order took well over 20 minutes to arrive. So long that we actually contemplated just cancelling & leaving. It was kind of surprising that the bartenders & waiters were not able to communicate efficiently enough to provide two standard drinks to a couple of middle aged, super friendly customers. When he finally arrived with our second order, only then did he remove our first empty glasses. & getting him back to pay our bill was not easy either. We tipped, but not as much as we first planned. The minute the waiter saw our lower tip, he left & hardly said thank you or goodbye. I understand service & have been a server for half my life. Because of this, it wouldn't really surprise me if at this point in the experience, people would tip a bit lower. In fact, I'd expect it to be no tip if I gave such sporadic & unpredictable care to a table. Our bill wasn't small. We paid over 60$+ tax. It's not like we ordered the cheapest things on the menu. I appreciate & understand that waiters have hard nights & that there's a lot to contend with. However, when you're asking people to pay top dollar for drinks & service, you have to expect that they will want to feel significant enough to be checked up on & remembered. Wouldn't go back, honestly.
On the plus side, really decent drinks. 😌
Went for an afternoon drink here & we ended up staying a few hours. The bar staff were amazing, extremely friendy & checked in us but did not bug us. It was nice to be able to sit & chat to my friends without someone asking if we needed anything every few minutes but we're always there if we needed something. Also drink prices were very cheap. Thank you guys, you're the best in Quebec City.
The staff was great. Fun, friendly, attentive but not intrusive. General tao chicken was delicious, probably wouldn't to pork dumplings again. Espresso martini well made. Great place to grab a quick bite
My husband & I ate here while vacationing. The food & service were amazing. Despite being busy, our waiter managed to be attentive, friendly & helpful. His laugh was contagious & he made our experience even more memorable. ( forgot his name, but he was born 12 hours NW of the City' out of nowhere') .
A great team of servers & bartenders that make the experience enjoyable & memorable. Drinks were very good & the vibe of this place is unique & very pleasant. My only complaint was that the poutine was a bit too salty. It was my girlfriend's first time trying poutine & I was hoping she would be impressed by something uniquely Canadian but it fell short. But the main course was very good. Salmon tartare & a lobster roll.
Overall the staff at Shakers need to be commended for their friendliness, professionalism & energy. They made us feel welcome, offered good recommendations & really make this place a wonderful experience. I watched as customers all left with big laughs & big smiles. That's how every dining experience should feel like! Bravo!!
