Le service était incroyable : attentionné, chaleureux & professionnel. L'ambiance était également parfaite, très agréable & conviviale. & le choix de la musique était vraiment excellent, ça ajoutait une super touche à l'expérience ! 🎶
On a passé un très beau moment du début à la fin. Je recommande vraiment le Bistro 1640, tout était délicieux & l'expérience était parfaite. Nous y retournerons sans hésiter !
We had a great birthday dinner for our dear friend Gold & our server Juliet took good care of us. She was outstanding! Brought out a dessert in the end with birthday sparklers & sang happy birthday together with the other servers. Food was amazing & the ambience feels very classic Paris bistro!
Extremely disappointing & unacceptable experience at 1640 Bistro.
While visiting Quebec, we made a reservation at this restaurant & even stopped by earlier in the day to confirm our booking in person. However, when we returned at our reserved time, it was pouring rain, & the restaurant refused to let us inside because of the heavy rain.
We clearly explained that we had a confirmed reservation & that we were there to dine, yet they still refused to let us enter. Being left standing outside in a downpour despite having a confirmed reservation was not only frustrating, but completely unacceptable.
In my view, this shows an astonishing lack of basic hospitality, professionalism, & simple human consideration. A restaurant can serve good food, but if it cannot show even the most basic respect & care toward its guests, that says far more about the establishment than any menu ever could.
I would never return to a business that treats customers this way, & I certainly would not recommend it to anyone. There are plenty of restaurants in Quebec that understand both hospitality & basic decency. I would rather spend my money at one of them.

Une expérience extrêmement décevante & totalement inacceptable au 1640 Bistro.
Lors de notre voyage au Québec, nous avions réservé une table dans ce restaurant & nous étions même passés plus tôt dans la journée afin de confirmer notre réservation en personne. Cependant, lorsque nous sommes revenus à l'heure prévue, il pleuvait à verse, & le restaurant a refusé de nous laisser entrer à cause de la forte pluie.
Nous avons clairement expliqué que nous avions une réservation confirmée & que nous étions là pour dîner, mais ils ont malgré tout refusé de nous laisser entrer. Nous laisser dehors sous une pluie battante alors que notre réservation avait été confirmée était non seulement frustrant, mais tout simplement inacceptable.
À mes yeux, cette attitude révèle un manque sidérant d'hospitalité, de professionnalisme & de considération humaine élémentaire. Un restaurant peut proposer de bons plats, mais s'il n'est même pas capable de traiter ses clients avec un minimum de respect & d'humanité, cela en dit bien plus long sur l'établissement que n'importe quel menu.
Je ne retournerai jamais dans un établissement qui traite ses clients de cette manière, & je ne le recommanderai certainement à personne. Il existe beaucoup d'autres restaurants au Québec qui comprennent à la fois le sens de l'hospitalité & le minimum de décence envers leurs clients. Je préfère largement dépenser mon argent chez eux.
We had a very disappointing experience at Bistro 1640. From the moment we approached the host stand, we felt completely unwelcome. The host was rude, dismissive, & lacked even the most basic hospitality you would expect when walking into a restaurant.
We understand that restaurants get busy & that a table may not always be available-that was not the issue. It was the way we were treated. A simple polite explanation or a welcoming attitude would have made all the difference. Instead, the interaction left such a bad impression that it ruined the entire experience before we even had a chance to dine.
Hospitality starts at the door, & unfortunately, ours ended there. We left feeling extremely disappointed & would not return.
Quel bon moment passé dans cet endroit. L'esprit bistro parisien y a été reproduit avec une ambiance plus feutrée. Le repas à été très agréable & bon. Les assiettes dont servis avec une belle présentation & le personnel très professionnel est attentionné. Je vous recommande vivement cet établissement au pied du château Frontenac.

From the moment we arrived, the host & wait staff welcomed us with a smile & made us feel at home. On a 34°C summer day, Rosalie immediately brought us ice-cold water 🥤❄?, which was such a thoughtful touch.
The Maraîchère Pizza was absolutely incredible-fresh, flavorful, perfectly cooked, & easily one of the best pizzas we've ever had. 🍕❤?

We had a fantastic experience dining at Bistro 1640 while exploring Old Quebec. The atmosphere was lovely, creating a welcoming & comfortable vibe from the moment we sat down.
The service was remarkably quick & attentive throughout our meal. For my main, I ordered the Pesto Chicken & Shrimps pasta (Pesto Volaille & Crevettes). The dish was incredible, featuring perfectly cooked tagliatelle tossed in a rich, creamy pesto sauce with generous portions of tender chicken, sweet nordic shrimp, fresh tomatoes, spinach, & toasted pine nuts. Every element tasted fresh & balanced.
If you are looking for top notch food & efficient service in a great setting, this place is well worth a visit!

Nous lui avons répondu que nous voulions prendre un bon café, cappuccino
& elle nous a répondu que ils acceptaient seulement les clients qui mangeaient !
Incroyable la façon de faire des affaires pour ce commerce , & en plus il y avait beaucoup de tables libres sur la terrasse & personne à l'intérieur. Nous avons compris en regardant le processus que c'est un attrape touriste

À éviter absolument il y a beaucoup d'autres restos, juste à côté & sur les rues auto qui acceptent les clients qui veulent prendre un café
We ended up at Bistro 1640 one night during our 20th anniversary trip, & loved it so much that we went back the next night with our entire family! The service was friendly & accommodating. The atmosphere is great because you can sit on the outdoor patio & people watch while listening to the talented street performers! I loved the chicken caesar salad, the burrata tomato salad, the pasta dishes, & the burgers! My son & I both agreed that they have the best burger we've ever had - & we've had a LOT of burgers. ha! Oh! & I had the tastiest lemonade I've ever had in my life. It was their housemate fruit lemonade & came with a gooseberry on top. I can't even describe how heavenly this tasted & smelled. My entire family was envious. I can't recommend this place enough!! It's a must!
