Cannot recommend this little place enough. World-class coffee (saying this as someone that became a coffee snob living in Melbourne), great pastries (the almond pain au chocolat is 10/10), classy interior design & music giving me the vibes!
My boyfriend & I are still raving about our experience at this coffee establishment. The coffee was some of the freshest & best tasting coffee ever. If you sit in the way it is served is also so cool down to the cups the coffee is served in. Totally recommend & hope to be back soon!
This Scandinavian-inspired cafe is a little gem in Quebec City.
I was very happy with my cafes, both the cortado & the chai, which flavour was very rich.
The bread of the danish breakfast was amazing, healthy, not salty & full of seeds. I also appreciated the cassis compote & the egg (perfectly runny inside!) & whipped butter.
My granola - on the first day - was really good & the yoghurt was Greek.
The second day they clearly changed with regular vanilla yoghurt & it made the whole thing very sweet (usually I take it for the proteins of the Greek yoghurt). So I wish this was communicated to me.
The cinnamon swirl was truly too sweet - the sugar coating outside was not needed & the canele was nice but without rum (I think it's fair if they announce it, because if people expect the same from Bordeaux it's not the case).
I was very surprised not to find cardamom buns given the Nordic inspiration of the cafe.
This said, the place is amazing & staff is friendly & trained in latte art (but take your time: mostly they are alone - one person at least for the drinks- so you have to wait). I do recommend it!
Ça fait longtemps que je vais chez Olive & Apotek & je dois dire que c'est vraiment le meilleur café latte qu'on puisse vous servir à Québec. Un café avec une ambiance unique, des personnes super sympas & des produits uniques aussi, je vous recommande leurs pâtisseries, particulièrement le cannelé & si vous avez l'occasion leur déjeuner danois est vraiment top aussi.
Très déçue par notre expérience. Dès notre arrivée, l'accueil était froid. Aucun sourire ni bonjour. La barista textait derrière le comptoir, donnant clairement l'impression que notre présence dérangeait.
Nous sommes arrivés vers 15h30. Or, même si le site internet & Google indiquent une fermeture à 17h, dès 16h le personnel a commencé à ranger brusquement les choses, faire le ménage & mettre les chaises sur les tables, nous faisant sentir que nous n'étions plus les bienvenus. Lorsque j'ai demandé à quelle heure le café fermait, on m'a répondu d'un ton sec : « dans une minute, à 16h30 », ce qui ne correspond pas aux horaires affichés en ligne…
De plus, le commerce offre des places assises, mais ne dispose pas de toilettes pour la clientèle, ce qui, à ma connaissance, n'est pas conforme à la réglementation au Québec.
Le café était excellent, mais les interactions nous ont laissé un goût amer, autant pour la qualité du service que pour le respect envers la clientèle. Il y a bien d'autres établissements dans notre belle ville qui méritent d'être encouragés! Je ne recommande pas.
Horrible experience. Staff irrespectueux. La barista nous a clairement ignoré puis était glaciale. Après avoir attendu devant elle qu'elle prenne notre commande 20 min avec zéro autre personne au comptoir! La politesse & le respect ne sont aucunement au rendez-vous en tout cas. Je ne recommande pas du tout! Puis je ferais passer le mot. Mais quel service vraiment.
