About

Érablière du Lac-Beauport functions as a traditional sugar shack focused on the cultural heritage of Quebec maple production. The kitchen specializes in authentic regional recipes featuring wood-fired maple syrup and local farm-sourced ingredients. Guests encounter a rustic atmosphere characterized by long communal wooden tables and exposed timber architecture that reflects the history of maple syrup harvesting. The menu highlights classic staples such as pea soup, crispy pork rinds, fluffy omelets, and thick pancakes smothered in fresh amber syrup. These dishes provide a direct connection to the seasonal rhythms of the forest and the labor-intensive practices of the evaporator house. The environment facilitates a communal connection to historical culinary customs while prioritizing the fundamental tastes of high-quality maple products derived directly from the surrounding forest terrain.

Lovely place to visit. The owner went through the whole maple syrup process, which was very interesting. The maple toffee was delicious! Great selection of items in the gift shop - get the maple butter!

A fun unique experience. Lots of Quebecois tourists. It's more a fun excursion/event place than a tourist trap. When we went there was a school group, groups of friends & couples.

Music, dancing, gift shop, museum, great food... make it more than just a place for breakfast. We were the only Americans when we went, but still felt very welcome. Come early or stay late for the syrup making demonstrations.

Breakfast is served family style & plentiful. The maple syrup is excellent! I guarantee you've not had so much at one time in your life. Make maple candy in the snow, syrup on crepes, in your coffee & all the usual places.

We visited this place in early March to try some maple taffy & local maple syrup (without participating in the meal).

The family was very welcoming & opened up the gift store / museum for us even though it was during their lunch break. The mini tour (the daughter showing us around) involved a sample of the maple butter & making the taffy. We appreciated that our guide seemed very genuine & happy to share about the process of maple syrup & would point out different things we could look at to understand it. Of course, the butter & the taffy were both so good! The tour + taffy was very reasonably priced at around 8 CAD a person. We bought some maple butter & candies as souvenirs too.

Visiting Érablière Lac Beauport Sugar Shack is more than just a meal-it's a true cultural & sensory experience. From the moment you arrive, you're invited to step into the heart of Québec's maple syrup heritage. The journey begins in their museum, where the history of maple syrup unfolds through fascinating displays & artifacts. It's an engaging way to understand the traditions that have been lovingly passed down for generations.

After the museum, the guided tour brings the process of maple syrup production to life. You can see firsthand the artistry & effort that goes into turning sap into the golden syrup we know & love. The gift shop is a treasure trove of maple delights-perfect for bringing a taste of Québec home with you.

& then comes the dinner-what a feast! The meal is traditional, hearty, & served with a warm hospitality that makes you feel like family. To top it all off, live music fills the air, adding joy & energy to the evening. The combination of history, culture, food, & entertainment makes it an experience you won't soon forget.

Érablière Lac Beauport isn't just a sugar shack-it's a celebration of heritage, community, & flavor. A must-visit for anyone wanting to experience authentic Québécois tradition at its finest.

We expected a bit more than we got. The description & explanation of the male syrup process was very brief. Too noisy to hear. Lots of food served, but not great tasting. Sad because 3 years ago it was fantastic. Maybe cruise line picked inferior meal?

Must have experience for the family, they definitely have something for everyone. Fairly nice size gift shop with Syrup processing right inside.
Dinner is also available if you'd like, we had it as a part of our conference. The dishes were a fair size, served family buffet style.
There is also crêpes & syrup for dessert along with a syrup activity.

We took a group of 50 students to Érablière du Lac-Beauport & had an incredible time. The visit was the perfect mix of education & fun. Staff were friendly & well-prepared for a large group, making everything run smoothly from start to finish.

We learned all about the maple syrup-making process, from tapping the trees to boiling the sap. The kids were really engaged, & the demonstrations were simple, hands-on, & fun. But the real excitement hit when they got to make tire d'érable-hot maple syrup poured over snow. Watching 50 kids roll their own maple taffy was pure joy.

The meal was delicious & very traditional-everything from pea soup to tourtière & pancakes covered in syrup. Even students who don't usually try new things cleaned their plates. For the adults, the maple beer was a definite bonus-light, flavourful, & a great taste of the region.

Overall, the sugar shack had a cozy, authentic vibe that made the whole group feel right at home. It was a cultural experience that felt both festive & meaningful. Highly recommend it for school groups or anyone looking to experience Quebec traditions in a fun & tasty way.
